Postman Prat
With your wealth you can afford to pay the extra bit. You should have got one for WTD as a 'thank you' present. After all, he let you go to Didcot with us !!
Graskie
I had to buy him off, though, PP. You didn't know that, did you? I don't suppose he passed anything on to you either, did he?
Postman Prat
All he gave me was abuse. Mind you, he was very polite when we went to Swanage. Probably because his car was on my drive and he didn't fancy the long walk which would have been the result of rudeness. On the other hand he bought a wardrobe I didn't want. Fishmanoz
Graskie, you'll find yours is exactly the same as the £5.84 one, it's just they saw you coming. My latest acquisition is also non-railway - a second hand road bike. I tell myself I deserved one after riding the same cross-bike for nearly 20 years, and the fact I ran over the front wheel of the cross-bike in the car had nothing to do with the decision. The wheel is only 2-3mm out of true as a result after all.
Graskie
Could you perhaps sort that with a wheel gauge, Fishy?
Fishmanoz
Good thought Graskie, would that it were that easy.
Graskie
I just love your correct use of the subjunctive mood in "were," Fishy, rather than "was". Top marks! Unfortunately that will not help to mend your bike wheel, though. What mood will you use for that?
Fazy
Just ordered a fowler 2 - 6 -4t plus a juldith edge limousine kit to convert it.
walkingthedog
And I thought you were a steel ruler afficionado, WTD. Mine was really £6.56 plus p&p from the same place. No regrets, it's probably better than your cheaper version. They've just reduced the price from £6-56. You should have waited Graskie.

walkingthedog
I thought it was a loco and a body. Can't remember. Anyway I hope he enjoyed it. I suppose saying it was for a nephew is a bit like saying I'm building a layout for my son.........yeah right.
Fazy
I've just clocked WTD's posts at 9966 and was wondering just how much is of help and support advice and how much is banter
walkingthedog
About 66 were advice, 100 were banter and 9,800 were being rude to PP.
Fishmanoz
Where did the other 9,800 being rude to Graskie go then? Or is it that you fire up PP and he does the business on Graskie?

Woody52
The Hornby-Arnold N Gauge 5-Bel "Brighton Belle Pullman" 1934 Set together with a TCS Decoder. Looks fantastic. Runs well on my home layout, runs well on my Clubs Exhibition Layout, runs well on 2 out of 3 Power Block's of my Clubs main Layout, continually shorts on the 3rd Block. Tried diferent Decoders, but all the same. Oh well, still a great train. I'll mainly run it at home and at exhibitions when no one is looking(USA Layout).Peter.
