  1. I have just checked, and I bought mine on the 26th February 2005 at 11.18am - cost £99.99 from Model Zone. Sad isn't it - it said Please retain receipt - so I did.
  2. I think this model R2339 DCC Ready - Loco Drive was actually introduced in 2004.
  3. Hornby R4229 -The Pines Express Coach Pack - Ebay purchase - New and unused.
  4. R3239 Class 700 – 0-6-0-T – 30315 BR Late Crest – DCC Ready - It's in the post.
  5. Mine never seemed to notice!! The trick is to have individual accounts as well as a joint account. Mind you there are only thirty Merchant Navy Class not 800.
  6. The last one I saw was in Modelzone in High Holborn (it was a very big shop). It was a Trackmat layout, that had had a couple of extra straights put in each side, to make it, as you say, 8x4. It sat under a huge plexiglass cover. I think they use to switch it on on the morning, and then off when the shop closed - the trains must have covered miles - it was there for a long time. I spent many a lunchtime in that shop - they had some very good sales, and many of my locomotives came from there.
  7. BR Standard Class 5MT – 73049 – BR Green - DCC Ready - I saw it in the MRD Sale - very good price. I'm currently in Florida, so it should be there awaiting my return when I get home.
  8. We don't appear to have a regular postman -whether its shifts or holidays, but they do seem to chop and change alot. Caerphilly Castle caught me out, I saw the email saying the coaches had been shipped, checked where I was with the "plastic" - as you commented - a number of parcels this month. The statement was a little larger than expected - so checked the "shipping" email again, and there was the Castle tucked in at the bottom of the list. It is the last of my January 2014 pre-orders.
  9. Nothing for months, and then they all come together! R4538A BR Ex SR Unconverted Open 2nd Class R4534C BR Pull-Push Coach Pack- (Coach Set 608) R3237 NRM Caerphilly Castle DCC Ready
  10. Class E4 tank - late crest - arrived today. A very nice loco.
  11. I have to say my Beattie Well Tank, picked up a couple of weeks ago, is now run in, and really is a very nice southern tank - highly recommended.
  12. Picking up my Beattie Well Tank tomorrow. It's the Basingstoke Model Railway Exhibition this weekend if anyone is interested.
  13. In an ideal world I don't think you should see the transition at the top and bottom of an incline - they just happen. I do of course appreciate that this all depends on the space available. Where you have wheel lifting, can you not place a piece of card under the track?
  14. A matched set of three Bulleid Coaches - originally produced as a limited edition, only available from Modelzone.

  16. You should have bought it. I bought both Tangmere and Wilton a little while back, but the prices are starting rise. Hornby Merchant Navy Class appear to be regularly fetching well over £100. I was lucky enough to recently buy a brand new DCC Fitted Clan Line for £50 - I have three so it will be renamed and numbered.
  17. Hi Poliss I was in LIDL this afternoon, and at the exit they had there usual "comics" stating what was due over the next week or so, and one was dated Thursday 18th to Wednesday 24th December (Britney Spears on front cover). Cabinets are on pages 4 and 5.
  18. From Thursday 18th December LIDL will have their display cabinets available. There are, as before, two sizes available. 1. Large, Beech-effect or white. H110 x W68 x D20. Lockable glass doors and ten height-adjustable shelves. £59.99 or two for £100.00 2. Small, Beech-effect only. H50 x W63 x D18. Glass door with magnetic closure and five heigh-adjustable shelves. £29.99 of two for £50.00. Those who have bought before, and have now recovered from giving themselves a hernia, when lifting the large cabinet, will know these units are very heavy - be warned.
  19. Drapers hand held vacuum cleaner. Work very well. Small, lightweight and powerful.
  20. Was that "the Deltic" - I used to live a few minutes from New Southgate, which was about ten minutes out of Kings Cross. The original Blue Deltic could be seen almost every day, along with many A4's, running probably to Newcastle, Sheffield, York and further. The era would have been about 1957-1960.
  21. I hope you managed to get the original one repaired? My latest aquisition - another Merchant Navy Class - I think I now have twenty three - only seven to go! I don't believe my luck the schools class St.Paul's sound has failed on its second use it stalled the first time I used it & I thought that was dirty track but the sound would not respond to f1 or after resetting the decoder c8to 8 so have sent it back for refund today :-( You inspire confidence tibrahim. I bought my St Pauls R2898xs when Hattons were selling them at half price, and that was some years ago. I've not even opened the box yet to see what's in it - hopefully a loco!
  22. Hi BB Buy a couple of the display cabinets, the next time you see them in Lidls. They are very good. I will. They haven't been around for some time, so must be due. My only concern from reading comments by those who bought them, is the reinforcing of the house walls before attaching the units!
  23. Hi Vespa - Well there are only thirty M/N Class, so I thought (sometime ago) why not. From previous posts, I assume you have the full set (fifty five) of Britannia loco's plus a number of duplicates? The current Hornby M/N's were only introduced in 2000, so are the Super Detail models. They are all still wrapped in tissue and in their boxes. Unless I buy a wall-mounted display case, there is a good chance they will never be run or even see the light of day.
