  1. Well the 47 was previously up front in the future phases section (including liveries I think?) but has since been demoted. Maybe reading too much into things but there’ll presumably need to be a new steam loco coming before long.
  2. The 9Fs are detailed in the 2024 catalogue (along with Castle, 31 & 37). All other locomotives are quoted more vaguely. I take that as meaning that these 4 models will be the next we’ll see and are in some stage of advanced design. Clearly the 37 is well advanced.
  3. They’re advertising it on the social media now - 15% discount on in-stock items.
  4. Lucky you! This will presumably be something generated by their CRM system which they’ve been lauding in the last few trading statements and reports.
  5. Maybe, being rival publishers, they weren’t asked!
  6. At Model Rail Scotland they had a small TT120 layout IIRC. i have to confess I’m a bit disappointed with their progress - their signal kits still haven’t been released.
  7. Many 37s and 47s introduced in 1960 onwards are still going strong so are over 60 years old. Even the 91s could reach their 40th birthday. I was reflecting the other day that the 91s have aged well in terms of how they look, particularly with LNER’s oxblood livery. Unless that’s my unconscious bias towards the 80s-90s era locomotives?!
  8. Go and wash your mouth out young whippersnapper.
  9. Did you use an iPhone? The standard live images they take don’t work on this forum. You can convert to jpg & try again. If you’re not sure how, just take a screenshot of the photo showing on your phone and upload that!
  10. I got a second hand Hornby Evening Star as a youngster after being hauled by it at the NYMR but it never ran very well. The 66 version is on order so having the 9F as well will be good. I hope they announce it soon, maybe in the autumn?
  11. The 66 is interesting. It was originally due late last year but is now arriving a year late. Did they take a few steps back to try to widen its appeal/scope? It was always a cheap model too - cheaper than the 08 and below £100 at launch.
  12. They've made a multi-million pound investment in new TT120 toolings and I am sure that many, many variants will feature in due course. Given Hornby's acknowledged issues with excessive inventory, constraints in manufacturing capacity and the desire to make the range as attractive as possible, I imagine this is a balancing act and they will have been unsure of demand. I'm sure they'll be looking at the OO market to determine which livery/cab variants will be most popular. Am I right in saying that Class 37 and 50 bogies are similar/identical? If so, then that too will no doubt have influenced the choice of Class 37s to follow the 50s.
  13. I don’t think it’s that difficult, but then I know my way around the store. In the shop menu just choose Hornby TT:120 and then the same first menu item “Hornby TT:120” and one of the tiles displayed is brochures and guides - the catalogue is in there.
  14. Trigger in Only Fools and Horses as played by the late, great Roger Lloyd Pack.
  15. The Scale Model Scenery baseboards have two different formats which aren’t the same dimensions. I bought one of the photo/shunting planks which is completely different to the baseboard in a box. Rather annoying. I’ll probably do something similar to you when I have time and money spare. My 15 year old washing machine broke down on Friday and I’ve had some (house!) plumbing issues, so my credit card balance is high and current account low!
  16. Hornby are now advertising the brochure on their social media.
  17. Maybe the IFAs have been moved up the programme and the 21Ts have been put back
  18. Wibbly wobbly, timey wimey (also known as modellers’ rule 1 - I could see Dr Who with a model railway)
  19. Interesting that the blue 08 is there on display when it’s out of stock and retired from the range
  20. In the past “last chance” has sometimes meant “last chance before the next stock comes in” or “last chance to help us reduce our stock this month”
  21. Still no sign of the Spring Club magazine though.
  22. Interestingly, for a while, the new catalogue cover showed in the image thumbnail on the Hornby website even though the original version was displayed after clicking on the link. Currently, the thumbnail is back to showing the original cover. I wonder whether it was changed back due to the agreement with Key Publishing and showing the new cover was deemed to contravene the agreement. It also shows that Hornby can update the website easily when they can be bothered! PS 7 days left for the next edition of the TT120 Club magazine to appear during the promised month of April! maybe they'll both be released together
  23. Great idea Marc In fact maybe a series could start with the three diorama competition winners? I agree that a nice community has developed. Some long-term modellers may find our enthusiasm insufferable but that’s maybe their problem for being on the grumpier side …
  24. Maybe in the meantime we can consolidate any layouts we develop in this thread. Either photos of layouts or track plans from AnyRail etc.
  25. The price of the 66 - which is still the lowest cost locomotive in the TT120 range despite several chances to increase to the same as the 50- really suggests that they’re not going for the maximum they can get away with. Pre-orders are pretty good already with about 180 across the three j50s on the Hornby store alone, according to the metadata. I imagine they’ll improve further when the 6-pin HM7000 decoder becomes imminent.
