  1. Hi 7032 was a western region loco. Camden was the main London shed for the WCML, You can safely say that 7032 was never based at Camden. Class 55 'Deltics' were ECML locos until their last couple of years when they would have worked Newcastle-Liverpool trains as well. They would only have strayed from those routes to work specials. However the prototype Deltic did a lot of trials Liverpool-Euston but that is a different loco, in appearance
  2. Nice little fact to be stored away re the class 81-85
  3. What are you alluding to? If this is the difference between a Princess Royal and a Jubilee I was in a hurry and why must people paint locos in the wrong colour???? 😛
  4. Just a little something to whet the appertite. 😀 /media/tinymce_upload/b1efdb15d82e8ce65b5fb2cd9c70e513.jpg
  5. The new Princess looks as if it will be a good model. Nice shade of red on this one and also Sir Bill. Up to now you could (just about) call the LMS offerings red, but no effort being made to improve the older models. Still Fazy will be pleased 😆
  6. You want to make 8 of them !?!? And to think I had you marked as a man of taste because of your interest in the NER 😉
  7. Do they mean the loco is unnumbered or is it the headcode panel that's blank? ?
  8. We are having lots of dialog with Mortgage brokers etc at the present time, and many talks are in the evenings - they don't seem to have homes to go to. My viewing/videoing is going 'all to hell' to put it in the vernacular and I'm losing track of my recordings. Quite possibly most of that on Antique Roadshow was missed (by me) since I don't remember too much about the item. Have I started something?
  9. Complicated......an understatement !! I may have fallen down on recording the details but I'm sure he said it was 1938. I reckon he saw that date on the plate and added 2 to 2 and made 5 (WTD - do not query my maths!!). Also just happened to make an extra one so there wouldn't be any record 😉
  10. Hi LC&DR and also Trev First of all a further pre-war special - West Riding. Secondly, a couple of weeks ago, afternoon tv had this guy on who brought with him one of the plaques as per Mallard. (?) Furthermore he asserts that this dates back to 1938 and it was originally given to his father by some senior LNER guy (I wasn't paying much attention so don't know the programme nor who the senior LNER guy was.) How I failed to note the details, I don't know. I've seen no mention of this in the enthusiast press but surely I can't be the only one to have seen this?? 😮
  11. Hi Jimbo A lot of interesting ideas here, but we must get rid of the Black Road Surfaces myth. Dark grey or lighter for new surfaces, mid grey for older roads. 😉
  12. Because no-one makes any!!! The manufactures obviously cannot see a commercial case for them. To assist you, most goods trains would have been made up of wagons from lots of railway companies. For example, a wagon of something going to Newcastle from Bognor would go all the way to Newcastle in a wagon belonging to another company which was in the area rather than being trans-shipped. Ordinary vans and wagons of all companies would be in 'the pool'. and to ensure that everyone gained the revenue due the Railway Clearing House would check all transactions on all railways. Passenger and Goods. For example the daily York - Bournemouth and return would have Southern coaches one day, GWR the next. Hope I've given you a bit of scope, at least for goods workings 😆 PP
  13. Hi A camera is your best tool for this. A couple of months ago the pavements where I live were resurfaced - the road surface remained untouched. You can see there is no Black there. Photo attached. /media/tinymce_upload/3cd44c4886f685b69ac08b5d66bcb5da.jpg
  14. Not fpr someone in the real world. Someone in the world of politics might say so, but they live in a world of their own anyway
  15. LC&DR will, no doubt, be very happy at the news of the D. I maintain he has some sort of deal with Hornby and now he's started the same with Dapol. It's about time some new things turned up for the NER fans.
  16. I don't use the Sat-Nav while travelling from town/city to town/city. However when ! get to my destination that's when it comes into it's own. 😉
  17. Hi LC&DR You'll be interested to hear that the 442s have been withdrawn again. Safety issues. It seems that when the Plastic Pig approaches certain signals in the Earlsfield area the signal changes and then 'Instant Spad'. this then leads to queues of trains all over the place. Is this the privatized utopia promised by the politicians ??? 😮
  18. /media/tinymce_upload/e4e79799ce9e9acbb098476489bc2d9e.JPG I know what you look like!!!! 😆 PP
  19. I suppose it's kind of appropriate, Colin and the Muppet Show !! You can't expect Hornby to apply L&Y livery to their pug - they do the Caledonian 'Pug' I'm not sure if I've read this properly but no punctuation = confusion. 😆
  20. Scooters maths appear to be ok - hopefully the forecasting by Hornby is equally good. Doesn't affect me - I'm not in the club (neither is SWMBO!!) 😆
  21. Colin, your lack of punctuation causes great difficulty in understanding your posts. Is this current post genuine information or is it another one which is fiction but enables you to namedrop all the way through? That, I think, is the case on most of your posts.
  22. Quote "You were probably thinking off PP - 60061 (A3) Pretty Polly!!!!" The number came out of my head and I chose that one because of the Pretty Polly connection. 😉
  23. Obviously Hornby think you are a special customer!! Either that or they're trying to fix you up with Sue !! 😎
  24. Not many wheels on a 0-4-0T or even a 0-6-T. 🫨 Even at 700v enough to give you a shock!!
