  1. Hi New Lad Many thanks for the good wishes. That set made me smile. Royal Mail never gave me anything so exotic as a 0-4-0t pug. The best I had was an 0-2-2 Corsa van but it was diesel fuelled.
  2. Sorry, just me being light-hearted re the camouflaged paint scheme. Significant birthday, SWMBO starting 5th week in hospital, trying to cheer myself up!!!! 😀
  3. I've just had a look at the photos - can't see a thing!!
  4. Could be that the green/early crest tender was actually made for use behind a Britannia
  5. Looks good. Certainly different. You've a choice of about half a dozen locos to put it behind.
  6. Hi Dynax. I stand by what I said earlier - it's smashing. You wouldn't see much behind, unless you had the front seats!
  7. Go to this site - it's very good, although it hasn't been added to for couple of years http://www.fictitiousliveries.co.uk/index.php 😉
  8. It looks rather nice - any chance of a 3/4 shot to see side and end? 😀 😮 I'm only being nosey!!
  9. I'm waiting to see LC&DRs Airsmoothed and Rebuilt Merchant in NSE on here 😆
  10. You can certainly see some 'interesting' items on the x-ray screen. The hand baggage shows up well, with the advantage of having the owner on hand. The suitcases, and larger items can show up interesting 'bits 'n' pieces' as well. Perhaps not to be mentioned in mixed company!! 😆
  11. Air cargo is shipped in small, lightweight containers known as ULDs - Unit Load Device All right, I'm being pedantic - as usual 😉
  12. Hi mjb Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but if Interceptor is spelled the same as in your post you've been 'done' (lol) 😀
  13. So you don't know much about anything other than Southern - we won't hold that against you. LC&DR has learned about other railways and I'm sure you could, with help. 😆
  14. Deflectors for Tornado are, so far as I know, the same as those fitted to any other A1. They should do the job. My mention above about the nameplate colours should have said the non-black colours didn't last long.
  15. Hi Trace Should you get no joy getting the deflectors as Hornby spares there are several firms who do etched deflectors. I can't think of any at present (typical) but no doubt someone else will know of one. For the record the Nameplates on the A1s were normally Black - I only remember a couple not so, one was red and the other blue. Hope this is of help to you
  16. Way back, when I was a lad, (early 1960s), Hornby Dublo introduced a 21t Hopper. Sounds as though it could be this model. 😉
  17. Looks very nice, LC. However, missing is a very young LC&DR looking out of the window !!! 😆
  18. How are you going to make the budgies - I can't think of anyone who makes them. (Don't quote Budgie toys!)
  19. Anyone can offer the lowest price in town, when they're out of stock................................... 😎
  20. Jacob If you're not happy about what Hattons charge, or what they do, it's easy. Don't use them

  22. I recall meeting, at an exhibition, an excellent modeller who happended to be a lady, called Maggie Gravett (?). The layout she was exhibiting was of the highest standard - far higher than any layout we see here. In the 1970s a lady, Vivienn Thompson, who produced models of LBSC buildings, had a series of articles in, I think, Railway Modeller. Again, models of the highest standard.
