  1. Ayup Dominic, I used to think that too, but simply typing in ‘RAF roundels’ got me German aircraft and all sorts non-RAF. Same as any reference to ‘Mosquito’ or ‘Coastal command. Or ‘1/72 RAF’ anything. I mean, come on !
  2. Thanks for that heads-up Ratch but Hannants site is well, rubbish ! I’ve got the letters but roundels ? Not yet !
  3. It certainly is Ratch. The wings were a bit non-fitting but I got there with them. Jon, the decals broke up instantly as soon as the backing lapsed got wet. True you don’t expect, but well, it’s Trun, innit ? And thanks Ratch for the heads-up. I can get on and order them now. Cheers mate.
  4. Ayup all… it’s mad I know but I’m stalled on my Airfix MKVIII Mosquito, QM-D. Because as soon as I dampened the backing on those Trun decals they fell apart. Now, I’ve been pumping various search terms in Hannants search engine and I just can’t get a sheet of 1/72, red letters and the correct roundels for said aircraft PZ 468 to appear onscreen. Can anyone help pls with the correct search term or a sheet number. Thanks. I’d like to get her done.
  5. Whether anyone likes it or not, model making is the oldest recorded hobby in history. And is vital even for the awful infrastructure that’s built today.
  6. Ayup All, Absolutely Ratch. But I’d have to say generation-s. And we’re lucky to have Adam as well, to carry on his Legacy. Blue Skies Roy.
  7. Like everyone else, the Chinook, Liberator and Bulldog seem the be ‘The Jewels’ of the release list. I have an interest too in the QB Firefly and Tiger…
  8. Latest Airfix are the HO/OO Windmill and Loading crane… I was thinking of a ‘Camberwick Green’ type Diorama- ‘Treddles Wharf’ but the kits are a bit too much unfortunately.
  9. My box was ripped but a call to Customer Service will get it replaced so I’m told.
  10. Ayup All, Don’t worry about ‘failing’. We all do, we’re human and it’s part of the human condition. If you can work out why you ‘failed’ at something, and not do it again, you’ve won. If you do fail again a second time, ask someone you trust to look at what you did and ask them to see if they can work it out and give you advice. But never give up, and keep trying. If you don’t, that’s when you’ve lost. And you’re good enuff to win ! As the song says, ‘pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and start all over again !’ Good Luck. Good peole will always be there to support you. Even if they’re not family.
  11. Ayup All… I’ve just treated (is that the right word ?) myself amongst other things, to a bag of ‘Airfix tea’. As a committed PG man myself, (Don’t answer that ! ) and having paid for it, anyone here tried it ? Are we PG or Yorkshire tea type strength ? And what’s the coffee like too ?
  12. Is there a Discount for the new Sea King for club members at all ? Would it help sales if there was ? Just an Idea. Help people join the club with decent discounts for new modellers ?
  13. Ayup All… Santa Maria and The Mayflower… thought I was short a piece of the Mayflower as I hadn’t noticed the blister was cracked under some tape, but I took it home in a bag and the part was within that, so lucky…I want the Airfix Titanics, but I have ten others already !
  14. Ayup All… I’ve just asked if one’s renewal date and membership number can be added to one’s ‘Account’ details as I find I can’t remember when I renewed. And thus take steps before when my membership is up. I wasn’t reminded by the club on its last expiration and so had to re-register to be able to get the discount on my new Superkit Spitfire. That’s a bit shallow, but one needs to know in advance so one can renew in time, so one doesn’t miss out on a clubkit meteor, say.
