  1. Rallymatt, From your comments I take it that the Hornby/Arnold coupler does not work all the time? If so that is not a good advert. The whole idea is supposed to be able to remotely couple and uncouple. If I remember correctly, the initial video showed two coaches having to be hand coupled instead of just backing up with a train. Garry
  2. Here is a link to old Tri-ang running on new Peco 120 track. As you can see the wheel backs have been skimmed. I do not alter the back to back as that prevents them running on Tri-ang curves which I still use on a layout. If you do not want to alter the wheels at all then you can modify the check rail as per H0m pointwork. Garry
  3. Disco Bob, There are a few "standard" TT layouts on the exhibition circuit. There was one, possibly two, at Warley last week. There has been at least one at the Doncaster show for the last 5 years at least (excluding Covid) and another is to appear next year. Paul Hopkins has three different TT exhibition layouts on the circuit and is often at places like Alexandra Palace, Peterborough, Doncaster etc with anyone of them. I believe Stafford last year had six TT layouts. Leeds and Shildon usually have one although those are usually standard Tri-ang using standard stock. One TT layout last year at the York Easter show won best of show. Obviously not as common as 00 or N but there are a few around. I have exhibited a few times but mainly loose lay ones and also a small scenic Tri-ang layout. Garry
  4. Tracksetta are aluminium and TT (12mm gauge) are available from 3smr. I bought some last year at a show they were attending and I saw they still had some 3 weeks ago. I don't know if they had a full set, what ever that is, but I got the ones I needed. Garry
  5. These were not originally super 4 to system 6 adapters, they came out a few years before system 6 and were origionally super 4 to Hornby Dublo when the amalgamation of Tri-ang and Hornby Dublo took place. Later they were ideal for use when system 6 was developed. Garry
  6. Who should be checking facts? TT has been around since the 40's starting in America by HP products, Tri-ang brought their TT out on 1957 which according to my maths was 3 years before the 60's. Garry
  7. I am in agreement with everything TTman says. I dont want lights and would be happy to have all Pullman coaches (and any future ones) unlit. Garry
  8. Hornby do not seem to be doing themselves any favours. Warehouse full of track they wont sell until models available. Sets before Xmas now down for late February and now advertising a Q and A session but cancelled without notification. Very disappointing. Garry
  9. I hope so as mine says private too. I did read on FB someone said it had been cancelled so no idea if that has any bearing on it. Garry
  10. It is a new product that came out in June. What you have been using is H0m which has been available for around 30 years now. The rail section is different as the H0m is code 75 and a representation of real rail. The new one is code 55 on the viewing part but is overall code 80 and has a double web, the bottom one set into the sleeper base. The sleepers are closer together and the points finer than H0m ones although I still manage to get my Tri-ang through both types. Garry
  11. It should look better as the Tillig track has a better more standard sleepering than the Peco Hm I was using for comparison with 3mm scale. My models on the Tillig/Peco 120 make the track look small. Garry
  12. Thanks, there is still plenty to do though. A lot of videos of it are on YouTube, if interested just type in Triang TT and hopefully some should come up. Garry
  13. For interest here is a 1:100 A3 (green) and the Corgi 1:120 in front of each other. Also a Corgi 1:120 next to an N gauge A3 Garry
  14. I model 3mm scale on 12mm track so I have ordered both sets to run on my layout for now. I know I cannot mix them due to height, width etc being way out but wondered what they may look like on Peco H0m track which I use. I know this is not classed as standard track but it is close enough for me and does not look out of place with my models (rivet counters will disagree). These photos show the Corgi 1:120 models on the track which I will admit does not look that good, but, I will have a layout ready for something to run them in. I may build a small layout with Hornby track if I can run my Tri-ang stock on it without any mods. My test at Gaydon was promising but running a loco on a longer track will be different to pushing a chassis on a point only. Garry
  15. I have replied with photos but it may not show for a while. Garry
  16. The Duchess on announcement is £145 yet in the mag (coming later) is £118 ((Hornby say £101 after discount). I have attached a couple of photos but these can take a while to appear. Garry
  17. I joined the club the day of the announcement and received the membership pack last Friday. The magazine arrived yesterday. On another site someone spoke to Hornby and was told the sets would now arrive 23rd February and other items after that. No idea if arrives means in this country or with us. Regarding the Pullmans I have no idea on the lights but what was surprising is the price was the same as the Easterner which is cheaper than the Scotsman, which, we were told was more expensive due to the Pullmans even without lights. Even some locos have a different price in the magazine compared to the on line catalogue. We have been told all the track, apart from crossings, is in the warehouse but they wont release it until stock is available. They say they are waiting so people can run something yet they are stopping people getting a layout made ready for stock to run. At the moment Hornby seem to keep making conflicting statements which does not help. Garry
  18. I took an unmotorised Jinty chassis to Gaydon to check and about 5 pushes out of 6 there were no problems. The other time there was a small tight spot but I had not checked the wheels b to b so no guarantee one wheel was not square on the axle. Also I could only push along on a point as I could not set up extra track at either end. Garry
  19. Still does not show up in Landscape. I am using Chrome. Garry
  20. I don't have anything that gives "My account". I have tried all the buttons and drop down menus but it is not there. Garry
  21. SK told me the 6th radius curve was only for returning the point to a parallel line.
  22. I cannot do what you ask on my phone, the facility to do this does not appear, I will have to see if it is on our little ones laptop. Garry
  23. David Watts, Dont know how you missed it but the catalogue and brochure say 640mm radius. Garry
  24. Strange that Track pack 1 is supposed to be included in the sets then. If the Track packs will not be here until April does that mean the sets will be delayed even more? Garry
