  1. Thank you JJ for your reply. It was most helpful. regards John
  2. Please can someone tell me if R.30093 and R.30094 are genuine Hornby products?
  3. R3736 is Loco. driven according to description in Cat. No. 65 (2019). So What about the Bee is quite right.
  4. Hello everyone here is my list of Polly and her friends - it may not be complete
  5. I think it is worth mentioning, that Thompson rebuilt Thane of Fife as a pacific, class A2/2. Hornby did a model of this (R3831) in late BR livery. It showed up in Cat.66 (2020). This means that we have two quite different models of "Thane of Fife". There was another occasion when something like this happened. This was the availability of the LMS duchess class in streamlined and non-streamlined versions. This did not, of course, involve a rebuild of the loco.
  6. Hello Bulleidboy I have just checked up on Hornby models of the P2. Only one is a limited edition - R3440, Cock O' the North in LNER gloss green. It first appeared in the catalogue for 2016. This was the "oddball" cat. - much reduced in size - an experiment that Hornby have not repeated, thank goodness. The first P2 to appear was a Railroad model of 2001 in 2013. This was R3171.
  7. R059 appeared for the first time in catalogue No. 26 (1980) It was manufactured for the five years 1980 - 1984. Approximately two dozen different models of the 2721 class have been produced by Hornby. The most recent was 2733 in 2020. This was part of a set, R1254M. It is worth noting that R59 is a model of a BR 3MT standard tank 82004 (1956 - 1961)
  8. R1124 appears in the price list for Cat. No.55 (2009) but not in the catalogue itself. The set is described as "Cornish Pullman" and priced at £119.99. In the first instance, the set was marketed by Toyopia, a Toy Shop.
  9. I quote from catalogue No. 66 (2020) "The first A2/3 was completed in May 1946, just a month before Thompson's retirement and was the 2000th locomotiveto be built at Doncaster. Hornby produced the A2/3 511 Airborne in 2021.
  10. I offer you a list of the Transcontinental models from my database.
  11. Hello Lynn Here is a list of S15s produced by Hornby. You could try ebay or a stall holder at a local model railway exhibition.
  12. R2788 first appeared in 2008. It was a limited edition, marketed by BVG. It never appeared in a catalogue. I hope that this helps.
  13. Hello LesXRN I have a database of Triang/Hornby steam locomotives - details of approx 2000 items. This includes sets and packs. If you would like to give me details of the less common locos in your possession, I will do my best to help you.
  14. Thank you JJ. Your comments make it all so worthwhile! Is there any other piece of my database that you would like to see? kind regards
  15. Hornby are celebrating 100 years of Flying Scotsman, so I thought it proper and useful? to pass on a part of my database, which lists all versions of F.S., including sets (after R.1000). Versions of F.S. in sets prior to R.1000 are listed below.
  16. Many thanks to everyone who has replied to my query. There are some very knowledgable people out there! For all fans of Flying Scotsman, I am about to create a post detailing all the models of F.S. created by Hornby. There are 59 entries, this does include sets. Have fun.
  17. Page 82 of the 2023 catalogue illustrates a model of 2573 - Harvester. This is described as an A3. I have always thought that all A3s had a banjo dome. Am I correct? If so the description in the catalogue is wrong.
  18. Thank you Going Spare. Much appreciated. It has been added to my database. I shall checkout all the locos on their website. It is some time since I had a look at it.
  19. A small number of Hornby models were only ever available from Shildon. They were 1) R3503 Flying Scotsman 60103, a limited edition in late BR livery 2) R3594 Duchess of Hamilton 46229 in late BR maroon livery 3) R3595 A C1 in SR black 4) R3596 class 5MT 5000 in LMS gloss black
  20. My parcel due for delivery by DPD was left at Argos in Sainsbury's. I have just collected it.
