  1. Thanks Ruff, Yes, that's the one. Thanks for the service sheet & info. A blast from the past. I hope I can fix it. Cheers, Kev.
  2. Thanks Rob. It's been a while since I ran DCC. How quickly we forget stuff. I could take the chip out, but it's rather a nice model and I don't want to break anything.
  3. Thank you Chris. Appreciated. Kev.
  4. I want to run a DCC fitted loco on my DC layout. I can't recall what CV value I need to change. Can anyone help please ?
  5. I have just acquired a DCC fitted loco and I want to run it on my DC layout. What CV value needs to be changed ? I have a Hornby Select 1.6 and my Hornby rolling road to use as a programming track. Can anyone run me through the steps I need to change it so it runs on DC please ? I could always just take the chip out, but it's not something I want to tackle as it's a detailed model and quite delicate. Thanks, Kev.
  6. I have a pair of those old Hornby (Triang) ? Shunters from the 60s. One works great, the other seems to run OK, but after about 5 seconds, smoke comes out and it would catch fire if left running. Could it be the magnet needs replacing or the armature needs re-winding ? It's the model that has the working front light. I have given it a service and cleaned up and oiled it. The light still works. Any help appreciated. Kev.
  7. This is my first 'pre-order'. I realised it could be some wait, but 2.5 years I wasn't expecting. They tell me now the end of May. So fingers crossed.
  8. It's not your fault Chrissaf. I realise you're having to deal with, and manage a dead, stuffed pig. But now I get 'burned' for speaking out. Ho hum.
  9. Chrissaf, This forum is so out dated & unfit for purpose. Can we please get Hornby to look into it ? Same with Rail Master. It looks and performs like software from the 1980's. If you look into the 'Latest News' menu in Rail Master, it's still showing 2019. It hasn't been updated since then. Dear oh dear.
  10. I like the forum but I don't feel like contributing again. I'm too scared to post anything. Every 2nd post is from Chrissaf admonishing users for not being able to navigate a dogs breakfast. Guys, you seriously need to re write this platform and all other Hornby software. It's not the users, it's YOU !
  11. The reason I put 'excessive gaps' between lines, is because that's how this badly coded forum worked. This so called 'updated' version is even worse. Pathetic actually. I'm scared to post now for fear of having the moderators chew my a*se off. Get your act together. And while your at it, how about re writing Rail Master to bring it into the 21st century.
  12. Chris, I don't need 'tips' on using a forum. You need serious help with creating a platform that works and doesn't need your constant 'tips' to navigate it. This forum is so badly put together. Think about it.
  13. This one has been so long, I forgot why I ordered it or what it is :) My layout and theme has changed so much in 2.5 years !
  14. Hi chaps, I have ordered a few sets of these brass point kits. I will post a 'un-boxing' and build review when I receive them.
  15. OK, I thought 2.5 years was bordering on silliness. You beat me by quite a few months !
  16. Flexi track is totally fiddley. Very handy in certain situations but hard to work with. I avoid it like the plague. Kev.
  17. I ordered a Heljan pre release/manufacture product back in December 2018. Is 2.5 years excessive ? Time to get my deposit back and call it a day perhaps ? Has anyone else waited this long for a pre release ? It better be good. Kev.
  18. Thanks RogerB, Shall do. They look pretty decent. Kev.
  19. I bought a few sets of these brass jobbies that Chrissaf found. They are just the ticket. Thanks again Chris and all who replied. Kev.
  20. @Chrissaf, Thanks Chris, That is exactly what I was looking for.! Cheers mate. Kev.
  21. Hi Keithp, Yes, just adding a realistic looking, but functional lever to the point so I can throw the switch manually. The ones I spotted on eBay look great but they might just be cosmetic. I want levers that are functional.
  22. Hi all, I'm extending my layout and adding 2 extra points, sidings. I don't want all the faff of point motors and wiring. Can anyone recommend some realistic looking, functional point throw levers please ? I found some on eBay. Not sure if they are any good though. Kev.
  23. Hi Keithp, Only a double loop. I've simply expanded the basic Hornby TrakMat. I like the concept of a town one end, extending to a long countryside run. Lots of farmland, woods etc and a tunnel running under a hillside at the other end. Kev.
  24. Moderators Note: Kevin Rather than requote yourself to add to or amend your post, you can now edit it yourself with no time limit. Click the three vertical dots to the right of your post and select Edit, make your changes and Save using the green button. You can still do this to your first post and then delete this second one from the three dot menu. At the same time you can take out the carriage returns between paragraphs as the forum puts these in for you now.
