  1. I have the new Rocket and I would purchase additional wagons and coaches if available as single items.
  2. As an aside, all nickel silver is not created equal. Some time ago during my DB modelling period ( when generally European made models ran like a Swiss watch - not so some other popular brands) I mixed Profi track with Peco flex track and a loco moving from Peco to Profi would visibly slow down, only a little, but slow down they did. The only explanation seemed to be that the German nickel silver was less conductive than the stuff from Seaton. So, was the metal mix different ?
  3. Hey Buz, not sure I get all shook up over Halloween but your cardstock Depot is a beauty. Perhaps it's the next station after Hogworts ? ( I did read a Harry Potter book I borrowed off a granddaughter ) Nice model John.
  4. This is probably the wrong place, but as there is a disdussion about 3rd rail powered MUs going on, can someone explain how the third rail is safe for railway personnel and unauthorised folk drifting onto the per way ? Why are people not regularly fried ? and what about the possibility of a dropped (or placed!) crow bar bridging the rails?
  5. Hey Ray, that's amazing ! Do you convert the locos to 3 rail yourself ?
  6. Hey Shaka, My Andrew C Stadden mid Victorians arrived today. They were so pleased to get out of their zip-loc bag that the whole 10 of the standing figures assembled themselves on my lap top keyboard ! Here is a photo ......I also received 10 seated figures and also 5 Victorian loco crew figures. All I need now is the time to paint them.
  7. I have purchased Andrew Stadden's (www.acstadden.co.uk) excellent late Victorian figures and painted them. In painting them I discovered figure by figure the absolutely 1st class work in each figure. What is also amazing is that the figures stand without a base mould - even the male figures stand on 4mm scale shoes - fantastic ! I am waiting for a delivery of mid Victorian figures which will be ideal for my recently received Stephenson's Rocket Train Pack. The figures are cast in a pewter type metal which renders very fine detail. Recommended
  8. Hi Tony, there never were 'curved' Electrotren catenary 'wires'...you need to gently induce the required curve into the straight ones (prototype of course only has straight runs ). If you use more protypical like wire type catenary you will similarly run straight and maybe even slightly 'zig-zag' reaches between posts. I have soldered Electrotren pressed metal wires together for use where a track diverges at points, crossovers, etc.
  9. Hi Tony57, I have a small qty of Electrotren catenary which I purchased in the 1980s. I, too, have searched for availability of additional parts, to no avail. You were lucky to get some ‘wires’ on eBay ! I wonder if you check out Marklin 1980s catenary on the used market as I think these pressed metal ‘wires’ are very similar to the Electrotren products ( I think Electrotren ‘knocked off’ the Marklin product to offer an ‘economy’ option ) .I would suggest just purchasing a couple of items if you can find a supply and checking the compatibility. It looks amazingly similar in the old catalogues. I would think you might find Marklin on European eBay, particularly the German eBay. Just had a look, type in 325353979513 on the eBay.de site.
