  1. Another 8 pin hm7000 fitted into (ahem) an EFE Hymek. It was a squeeze with the power bank and speaker and a better speaker is a deffo.. the 🐘 in the room though is I can't see Hornby adding a 35 profile to the sound profiles anytime soon so no doubt I'll have to go elsewhere for a sound chip and save this for something else. Not to sound negative but I'm now glad I'm not just relying on the app and this system as there are just too many dead ends even within the Hornby range. It's brilliant (fine control is excellent )but it needs time and IMO licencing out.
  2. eBay Lima and restore and upgrade... Or TMC have a lovely exclusive 47 coming out My last buy was actually a bargain br blue efe hymek .. runs like a dream and looks stunning.. As you say, no idea why this huge market is being ignored.. not colourful enough in the catalogue! 😁
  3. The Lima HM7000 project still continues
  4. Problem is if you change the acceleration curves too much to remotely get the loco near realistic running and stopping, you then seem to loose the auto squeal on braking.
  5. Can we fix the issue so that increasing global volume doesn't then reset and re write all the work you put in fine tuning all the volumes.. A global volume should move these in relation to each other not this hammer and fist approach
  6. Quick question follow up.. Does the hm7000 series support any sort of function remapping. EDIT.. found it's not( finally in manual. )This loco has it's lights logic weirdly set up/wired so once it has lit for forward it correctly keeps the rear board off.. but it then can't switch round without another key being available.. if you could remap one it would work by combining the bits.
  7. So just to confirm , is it working at all on DC with the DCC blanking plug back in the locos DCC socket using a DC controller.
  8. First question is it running fine on DC eliminate things like pickups and binding gears by checking performance on DC
  9. 99.9% sure they are both 128 but I'll check later.. Should have mentioned I don't have any issues on any other locos (with lights) just these two for some oddball reason.. Not sure if it's relevant but I also have them using a class 31 profile for sound as it's the nearest fit so far.
  10. Haven't checked every loco but so far looking at a EFE Cl35 and a Heljen 33.(so basically 2 Heljen models) Lights turn on and off as normal using F0 on BT but on DCC nothing. Tried swapping from press to switch. One odd thing on the 35 is the lights do come on when SStep 1 is applied forward but getting them to come on stationary is just nothing.
  11. That sort of works but gives a weird effect of brake squeal occurring on startup when the loco is sat and going through start up. It also seems to lag a bit on actual stop. Weird thing is I only have this issue on the 47. Though I'm now wondering if I'm actually hearing things lol.. hence my orig question; from default is anyone else seeing it work as per description.. Could running it on DCC have any impact rather than Bluetooth. Don't see why. And could my extreme tuning of the motor CV settings mid high etc play a role
  12. Has anyone actually noticed if this is working. Never happens for me on either a stop using throttle or a stop from a moving train using the brake
  13. To date since winter 22 mine never turn up unless Nudged with an email.
  14. I'm stil slightly baffled why a separate tactile controller has to be developed when the last time I looked every smart phone has a tactile up/down volume control. Whilst I can see issues with compatibility issues with various phones and the "fixed usage or hard coding " of that control it still should be possible when even some spreadsheet apps manage it.
  15. I would say yes. There's no substitute for covering for dodgy track work or Hornby QC having issues making sure every pickup contact actually does contact a wheel and isn't floating in mid air.
  16. I mainly use a pixel 7 to run the app as it's super quick sharp image and very responsive. I did however put it on an old fire using the Google play hack with no issues other than it was really slow and unresponsive at times.
  17. Think northern belle must have been having an off day... Another vote for a selection.
  18. We have a 47 on the ELR.. I must seriously listen to that horn next time it leaves.. it sounds very weird in this profile, as if it was cab recorded instead of externally recorded, as your hearing a lot of air being pulled from the lever.
  19. Just to add to my add :) I'm also on Android... no problems at all in the download times.
  20. Just to add to my post I have never had a loco loose communication nor have I had an issue with long download times or profiles that simply won't stick. Nor have I had power issues. My issue is that at the moment, quite simply it just doesn't seem to serve as a replacement for any other DCC system as it's unusable not only in a lot of other manufacturers DCC ready engines but also many Hornby current and back catalogue stock. I may as well just stick to a loksound or zimo with there added advantages; though I will miss the use of the instant CV writing.. hornbys big plus. I will come back to it when and if it becomes fit for purpose IE a DCC sound system fit for all trains at the moment it's too much a "we may release that profile one day or make smaller chips in the distant future".
  21. I pretty much agree with all that's been said. The system is intuitive, easy to use and for me other than one badly soldered 8 pin chip working faultlessly. I do have caveats and BUTS though. My initial thoughts on the system when announced were similar to a well known you tuber (no - not the carpet man): IE is this the answer to my DCC problems. I had been using digitrax on the main layout and mainly zimo sound chips and I think I dreamt this eventually would replace everything with a much simpler Bluetooth system. The problem is we seem to be still millions of miles from that and whilst it is still early days if anything we seem to hear less and less about planned new profiles for the back catalogue or chips that fit smaller engines, things that in my opinion are desperately needed if this is to be a huge success. As it is I now have two DCC systems only one of which is capable of guaranteeing full sound compatibility over my collection and layouts, and at the moment unfortunately it's the other one.
  22. And now bizarrely the email flyer says it is a ltd edition...of 1000
  23. If you watch the loading screen when you download it when it gets to the 2nd part when does it give up. And does your connection go red
  24. I fitted an 8 pin tsx into a ringfield here. But as Fish points out it is important you do a stress test.. One thing though just have a good check of all the wiring on your chip if it's an 8 pin. Of several 8 pins I have had this was the first to have an issue with its soldering - which I had to re do. One other thing - what does happen when you just connect a suitable psu and use the app. Have you completely confirmed that you have converted to DCC correctly.
  25. It still needs a decent track connection even on DCC so my first suspect is the insulfrog points.. if you can't get rid and go electrofrog make sure your track is live with droppers either side and you have fitted that clip Hornby sell. My next check would be is it (loco)actually picking up correctly on all pickups. I'm no TT expert but is there really not enough room for a power bank in TT in the tender.
