  1. So tried to power this layout and all is fine until I connect cables to track. I get 15v dc out of power supply but just mV at track and it pulses the needle like thete is a short. Is it something to do with this inner loop?
  2. Seen Steve and subscribed. Looking good so far. Cheers.
  3. Thankyou. Will reassess area again to rethink this part.
  4. Thanks Dodge. Will have a look then at Roco.
  5. Thanks. It was just decoder and now forced deleted. Thankyou for your time and response as it was annoying me a little. blush
  6. I no longer have a loco in my possession but the loco and decoder is still listed in my "Manage Devices" area. I cannot delete it as its wants to connect to device I haven't got anymore so can you remove it any other way?
  7. I have a large space now in center of layout and contemplating a turntable or something to have track access, etc? I see Peachy and Dodge have turntables but what options are out there?
  8. Hi again, I think my bypass loops has scuppered space for platforms? What is a normal width of platform in TT120 and has anyone else have a similar track layout dilemma?
  9. Great - might see you there then Peachy. I am planning to go on Saturday. Yes then. Is weekend before Hornby / Rails event.
  10. So true...every day is an oppourtunity to learn something too.
  11. Dodge. Unlike your layout, mine is only 6 x 3 and not a whole loft. It was my mistake to proceed with the concept which I really thought would be workable however if there is no learning then I will never gain experience and develop as a modeller. What is your intention now with your layout? My xps might be a lot softer than your black underlay material?
  12. Not sure what the Rails TT event is I'm afraid.
  13. Concur. When laying it, the way it is easily damaged and compresses concerned me but I plowed on as thought it is new and just my ways. When others stated a potential future issue with points, I was convinced I made a wrong choice. Experience ever growing lol.
  14. Now this is happening.sweat_smile
  15. Thankyou fishman and potmill. Pondering on some decision making now.
  16. I have uploaded content to my YouTube channel for a better idea of the concept. Thoughts always welcome.
  17. Thanks all. Think I have taken all advice onboard and have a work in progress concept of two track loop and a good amount of external sidings. Thoughts at this stage as not laid cork or glued yet.
  18. Thanks. Yes the sectional curves are still the same and hence the original ask as I thought that if the curves are not right first with their state, then the rest will be awkward to get right. I am starting with the points and will copydex them down on cork to surface of baseboard (xps foam sheets on plywood). Thanks again.
  19. @96RAF - neither. As I have so much Hornby track from the sets, I am using all Hornby track.
  20. Morning all. Just curious if any forum members going to BRM show at Doncaster on 10 Feb 24? https://www.world-of-railways.co.uk/information/the-festival-of-british-railway-modelling
  21. Extra track arrived yesterday so all go from here and all of previous put to bed. Thanks all for contributions. As always, very much appreciated.
  22. I have a track tester and multimeter. Track tester is a really quick fault finding tool. Train Tech TT1 Multigauge Track Tester by Train Tech https://amzn.eu/d/0Os336q
