  1. Thankyou. Will start with points then and work from that today.
  2. I keep the locos in their plastic shell and sleeves in a detolf cabinet. However like the look of those euro storage boxes!
  3. Hi all, So I have got all my items I was after and all locos working. As I am putting down track again, I still find the curves hard to manage. Do you start with the curves first and base your layout from them or centre on straights and try to get the curves to behave? Thanks
  4. Track - lots of straights, double straights and some points.
  5. Not at all. New William Whitelaw arrived today, but not with all the extra track I ordered but managed some temporary running.
  6. Ordered some track recently, sure some items are new on there like double straights and some curves.
  7. Spoke to them. The repaired train is now coming back to them on Monday, but I was not to know that or risk waiting for ages or having to keep calling for updates. They have issued a full refund. When I mentioned about the costs to return it, they retorted with points about track has marks where track pins were and they cannot now resell as new. My perception was that I should be just content with the full refund. Didnt expect such tactics but there we go. I should be happy with a full refund, minus £9.20 costs to me. I suppose £9.20 for peace of mind is worth it?
  8. They did send it to Hornby but just fed up of no information and calling without any progress on replacement or loco back. Because I asked for a refund, I had to return the set at a cost of £9.20 which was the cheapest option via Royal Mail / Parcelforce. Not keen on future purchases or renewing my magazine subscription.
  9. I contacted them and asked for a refund, I have to send the set back at my own expense as I do not want a repaired locomotive. Very disappointed however will buy one know from Hornby instead. Lesson learned!
  10. Thanks Martin & Matt. It has gone to Hornby for repair, however I purchased a new Locomotive not a repaired one so see what KMW say today.
  11. Thanks Dave & Matt. Yes went back to KMW as they send they would send replacement when back in stock. Just inpatient I suppose but if I had a refund, I could get anothet one from Hornby instead.
  12. Hi. Just wondering if anyone else has expeienced issues with anything bought from Key World Publishing shop? I had an Easterner Set, but loco wasnt right after running in. I know they ate out of stock but as I have no functioning loco since before Christmas surely I have more rights than just await a replacement??
  13. Good morning. I have lifted all my track to convert my 4 x 4 ft baseboard to a 6 x 3 ft baseboard to have slightly longer straights and a passing loop.
  14. Received a new chip and speaker today post quality checks so one of two parts addressed. Now awaiting a replacement WW from Key World Publishing.
  15. Thanks all. The decoder has now been sent back for quality checks and the loco been returned too so will update you all.with any progress / results.
  16. Just an update. Locomotive and tender returned to seller so see what happens next.
  17. Thanks. Running not improved. 3 pairs out of 4 on tender are ok and motor drives main loco wheels quite nice. 1 pair out of 3 wheels on loco seem to pick up OK but the drive runs poor and seems to pulse and not as smooth as the tender power test.
  18. Not offended at all. Still relatively new to modelling, trains, etc. Very happy to be corrected and afforded advice. Its very much appreciated.
  19. Thanks both of you. Loco has had at least 30 mins in each direction. Placed upside down in servicing cradle and placed wires from a combi controller and found: Three out of four tender bogies work. Only middle bogie of loco drives but seems to pulse and different to tender drive.
  20. Post my A4 William Whitelaw Next 18 issues, I put it back to DC and now have a totally seperate dc loop. However, with the Hornby controller and track there is poor slow start (doesnt move then just takes off!) And you here it struggle and strain on R3 curves. Is this just a tight motor needing running in or a motor issue that might be the cause of my Next18 chip cutting out due to motor overloading??
  21. Uploaded a video of issue to my YouTube channel here:
  22. I have the exact same issue on a TT120 William Whitelaw with a Next18 decoder. Exactly the same!
  23. Tried that thanks - just in case but the same happens. The fault above is exactly the same issue!!
  24. Hi all again. So SD038 profile loaded onto loco and same issue exactly.
