  1. Maybe I they let us know why it needed to be changed we may be more understanding and less grumpytishus. Otherwise, if it ain't broke.... πŸ€”πŸ™„
  2. Hi Dave, the Matchbox Bus looks good. I have also used some older Matchbox items for a corner quarry scene. Charity shop finds at 50p eachπŸ™‚.
  3. I have been asked to provide a layout for the 'Tasburgh Open Gardens' event, so I'm rebuilding 'Crunchlea Nutt Crossing', or something in that spirit. The layout needs to fulfil three basic requirements. 1, it needs to be light enough for me to handle on my own. 2, I needs to fit in the boot of my car. 3,needs to be entertaining for the viewing public. So far I think I've achieved (1) . I'll know if I've achieved (2) when I try to get it into the car on Wednesday evening to take it to the model railway club. (3) I will only find out on the 23rd June. I'll pop up some pics of progress so far. The layout is on two boards, total size 101 inches by 35 inches. VID_20240507_123351.mp4
  4. May the forth be with our credit cards... Special one day offer for TT120 ... LMS 'Princess Leia' club special... πŸš‚πŸ€–πŸ€–πŸ€–πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
  5. BR Steam and Green... Apart from the 43..
  6. Getting back to Model World Birmingham, and all of @PeachyTT120's promises of the 'Bright New Future' which I really do hope will come to fruition, the Elephant in the Room, for me at least, was so far in this thread I haven't heard anything regarding Peco's forward plans in TT120. Did I miss something? πŸ€”πŸš‚πŸšƒ or are there more 7 planks on the way. I want some of the Colmans but can't find any in my local stockists.
  7. Back to naming the town, taking into account previous posts, how about 'Middle Hootten'? It's got the prerequisite 'Middle' a HO, an OO, a TT, and an N....πŸ™„πŸ’
  8. Thanks Derriff, feeling much brainier this morning πŸ˜ŠπŸšƒπŸšƒ
  9. I bought a couple of continental coaches from Ebay to test clearances. It's not a very scientific way of doing things, but I can be pretty sure that if they don't crash into things as they go round, then my British railways stock should make it round too.
  10. Re the Dummy Diesel question, I'm sure some of the 3D printing companies do 3D printed 'body shells (and maybe bogie frames) ' to which you could add your own wheels and NEM pockets. Maybe a way to double head? Not sure what they would cost or how much 'fettling' would be required.
  11. I've tried reducing the 00 paper buildings that I have downloaded by 67% when printing them out. The only problems that I have encountered are that the internal lights are dimmer and the doors Squeak on their little paper hinges. And before anyone goes into a radius one spiral, yes, this is just meant as joke. πŸ™„
  12. If I get the Green one will I be helping to save the planet?
  13. Got mine about an hour ago.. Checked on 3rd rad.. Very tight.. Took bogies of and fitted thinest washer I could find... Couldn't get bogies back on, so that's not going to work πŸ˜‘... Took washers off and refitted bogies... Set up two long straights and. 3 3rd rads on kitchen table and made a cup of tea... pushed the wagon back and forth over the transition about 70 to 100 times, turning it round every so often, whilst drinking afore mentioned cup of tea. Now runs sweet as a nut.. No fetterlin required... just needs running in. πŸ™‚πŸšƒπŸšƒ Hope this is useful. (May not work in every case, Ts & CS apply πŸ˜‚)
  14. Just had confirmation that my Hornby package will arrive between 1 30 and 2 30 and will be marked HMRC.... Hornby Model Railway Consignment.. Ohh dear... No secrets... πŸ™„πŸ˜‚
  15. I'll give the 'thicker washer' a try when mine arrives. Will report as to whether it works or not.
  16. Would a thicker washer work? Or would the coaches ride too high?
  17. As everything else in Hornby TT120 is of high quality, then it would be reasonable to expect the advertising medium to reflect that quality. I would definitely be willing to pay for a good, durable and well made catalogue that would stand the tests of time.
  18. Just checked the 'Blog' and even there the TT4004TXSM is described as having "a, (singular), HM7000 decoder and a, (again singular), sugar cube speaker. Probably from where the first miss information originated. Shod proof reed every fing befour pub lishing πŸ™„πŸ˜‚
  19. Is that 'Running it' or 'Ruining it'.. πŸ™„πŸ˜‚
  20. Re: The TT1004TXSM Digital Class 43 set. Web Page. If you scroll down to 'Train Features', it showing the same spec as the non digital TT1004M. Read somewhere that it would only have one decoder, powered end. So gave Hornby a call this morning and their tech guy, Christian, confirmed that it would have 2 decoders. My moto is Never Assume Anything (Assumption is the Mother of All Foul ups πŸ™„). Hope this info is useful.
  21. Re peterm67, I think they must come with lights as the price point is the same as the previous lit versions. Be very poor value for the money if they don't.
  22. Re J50, is it only having rear couplings as per the A4/A3s. I hope they have made provision for a front coupling and put one in the accessories bag.. πŸ™„πŸšƒπŸšƒπŸšƒπŸš‚
  23. How about 'Tiny Town'.? πŸ€”πŸ’πŸ£πŸ€
  24. Thanks ndpndpndp, I will start snipping the capacitors out.. βœ‚οΈ.. Just needed a little reassurance before committing snippers to wire. πŸ™‚
  25. I have a number of TT8027 Power connecting clips (which are designed for Analogue running) and would like to use them to supply power to my DCC layout. I was told that this can be done by removing the component (diode.?) that is soldered across the two copper strips. Has anyone done this, and if yes, does it work? Or is it more complicated than that? Thanks in advance for any information.
