  1. Well MIS, I would pick something a bit easier for my first build. Clearfix is for fixing transparencies - you need polystyrene cement for plastic, precision poly, liquid poly, all variations.
  2. As with all paints, the more models you build, the more paints you need. But you also find that you accumulate a great variety of paints too. I must have well over 200 different paints, and I always need more.
  3. If you're particularly interested in building Luftwaffe aircraft, it may be an idea to get all of Humbrol's RLM paints: Humbrol Acrylic AB0240 RLM02 Matt Grau Humbrol Acrylic AB0241 RLM70 Schwartzgrun Humbrol Acrylic AB0242 RLM71 Dunkelgrun Humbrol Acrylic AB0243 RLM72 Matt Grun Humbrol Acrylic AB0245 RLM74 Matt Graugrun Humbrol Acrylic AB0246 RLM75 Grauviolett Humbrol Acrylic AB0247 RLM76 Lichtblau Humbrol Acrylic AB0248 RLM78 Himmelblau Humbrol Acrylic AB0249 RLM79 Sandgelb Humbrol Acrylic AB0251 RLM81 Dunkelbraun Humbrol Acrylic AB0252 RLM82 Olivgrun Humbrol Acrylic AB0253 RLM83 Dunkelgrun
  4. I've been looking on the airfix shop mainly at tanks and German ww2 planes a fair few seem to have the paint work list of paints missing its putting me off paying 35 pounds for a tool that I have to receive then order paints from various places as we all are well aware you can never source all from one place it may take 3/4 online suppliers to get the paint for one kit is there anywhere I could research the paint before the tool arrived to save what can be weeks

  7. The blue boxed arrow is a quote function and you've made it look like I said your reply. Just type in the open box at the bottom and click on the green reply box to submit.
  8. Nice Lightnings Ratch. Looks like they are all from new mold kits. I've only built two new tool Lightnings, so at least two of them are old tools (the F1A must be one)
  9. They're all 1/72 Airfix Lightnings - don't you recognise the diorama base?

  11. Hi Terry, each modeller will have their own preference regarding paint brands. For a start, get what is easily available to you from whichever supplier you use. Try it, see how you get on. Some folks don't like Humbrol Acrylics - I get on fine brushing them. but not airbrushing. My preferred brand is Vallejo, but their paints may not be readily available where you are. However, I'm prepared to experiment with other brands too; Alclad2 Lacquers, Hataka, AK Interactive, Andrea Color, Citadel/Games Workshop, Revell. Lifecolor, Tamiya, try them all. Don't be confined by preconcieved notions, keep an open mind, what suits one person might not suit the next and vice versa.

  13. I guess it depends on which kit you want to know about. The new Airfx 1/48 Tiger Moth has the paints listed (on this site) at the bottom of this page.

  15. There hasn't been a Club for nigh on 2 years - why would there be a discount?

  20. This is the original 1957 tooling of the 1/72 de Havilland D.H.82a Tiger Moth (01015). N9151 served with No. 6 Elementary Flying Training School at Sywell sporting full wartime camouflage. It was numbered ‘64’, and over this was a mustard coloured gas detection panel. /media/tinymce_upload/678bd4f337b490743d0c6943156b129f.jpg/media/tinymce_upload/e3758c713c028e207295f758f336135a.jpg/media/tinymce_upload/ff41cd2e23e694af319a9335412b1b84.jpg
