NWR-Gordon-4
That's what I was trying to say to him, HB, but in the way of using this: @! Didn't make a good job of it though, did I?! 😆 GNR-Gordon-

NWR-Gordon-4
7? Not even 10?! That's crazy. The effort into producing that amount. Tooling, paint and decals, cannot be worth it, for 7 models. 1,000 makes sense, not 7. The good old days, eh?! 😆 Have you got the product number for the Class 86, new lad on block? Me and you seem to have something in common, liking product numbers! 😆 GNR-Gordon-
RDS
I am trying to make sense of (and tidy up) this thread and have come to the conclusion that it is probably the most confusing thread I have ever seen, mainly due to the excessive and completely pointless use of the Blue Button with new text hidden in old posts. As part of the tidy up, some of new lads posts will be removed
new lad on block
Hi Gordon,The 'Sheppard 100' was not a new model. It was probaby renamed and renumbered from R2160 Cl.86 'Crown Point'.

Mrjezza31
Hi there, just found this online and feel I should clear this up - although this is a particularly finely printed model, and you are right to consider it to be of Hornby factory origin - this is actually a renumbered 86218, not a renumbered 86235. (Denoted by the white roof) - hope this clears it up a bit!

Sheffield is not in Merseyside.... 😉 That would be Hatton's. Formally of Smithtown Road in Liverpool. Now based in Widnes, which was in Cheshire...but is certainly on the banks of the river Mersey.Just across the river from Runcorn...

Bulleidboy
Hornby had already produced the LMS Black 5 - 5000 as a NRM model some years ago. Although not advertised as such, it was DCC Ready - it was that long ago - I have one.

atom3624
There were 2 sites on Smithdown Road.I remember the older one, which was the only one when I was a 'young enthusiast', close to the Pelican crossing - dad used to park in one of the roads opposite. Later on, the bigger one opened, which was 'after my time' ... now they've become true Liverpool supporters - located outside Liverpool!!(Local joke.) Al.
