Boy Scout

Recommended Posts

I've just finished another 1:600 liner and as always I need a break bulding something different. I dug up my scout model which, after taking resin copies for Ratch was in a semi build state. I'm now trying to finish it off. It's only been about 55 years since I won it and made a mess of building it. But it's been cleaned up, made new epaulettes and garters. Still need t make the sheath knife and the stave...... but those are easy enough to do. Trying washes and dry brushing new techniques for me.

My compressor is still giving trouble and I can't do much on the Tristar and DC10.  I spent some time working on this old kit after a hiatus of some 5 years!  I think I might actually finish it shortly.image.thumb.jpeg.edcea0f61ac5e599e094a146448b4716.jpeg

Re-posting to replace lost images.

This piece was kindly given to me by Patrick Camilleri, who cast the parts from his kit and assembled most of them for me.

Satin finish lacquer to the flesh parts, matt lacquer to the clothes and gloss to the shoes and belt and I think I will call it done! ................. 55 years after I won it at a quiz.

It's painted up as a patrol leader in the 1968 Seagull Patrol of the Stella Maris College scout group
