When we show our builds here, we can all see the responses from other modellers. But do you show your latest pride and joy to your family and/or friends? If so, what is their response? Do they appreciate the work you’ve done? Your skills? The effort you put in to your build? Are they encouraging or do they dismiss the whole modelling thing?

I do get the occasional "that's nice dear" when I proudly show her something that has taken weeks but generally SWMBO is pleased that it keeps me entertained and out from under her feet.

I have a twin door display cabinet in my front room. I actually don't get many comments on the military pieces but my figure shelf gets a few comments.

The general opinion is it keeps me quiet. One of my daughters boyfriend absolutely loves looking at them, but does the head down and clam up when I come in. Still nice to know he likes them.

Yes dear is my wife's usual comment/response, apart when she sees the videos of her doing the sound effects for a Me Bf109 with her snoring. I'm just waiting for a Merlin tone and then I'm getting the Lancaster out the cabinet. I can't print here what she says.

Usually, I hear things like "good job", "I like your work". However, people tend to be very critical and that's hard sometimes. Especially if you worked weeks or even months on a project.
