Indeed yes, the Yesterday channel is on Freeview/Freestat. Freeview is usually available on pretty well all modern Tellys as it's fitted as standard, if not you can still get "set top" boxes that you plug in between the aerial and telly. They can be connected in the same way as a video/dvd player, insomuch as you plug theaerial into the box and in turn plug the box into the telly's aerial socket. Granted you'll need to plug the 'box into the mains too for it's own power supply.

Yes "Yesterday" is a FreeSat channel, and on Freeview Play as well. "Yesterday" is also on "UK TV Play"Internet catch up service for those, who for any reason, don't have access to FTA (Free To Air).

Note that none of those above [perhaps barring Satellite], including Internet, are likely to be available to anybody outside UK shores.

Edit. Just done an Internet check for the "Yesterday" channel, also listed on Sky, Virgin TV, YouView, BT TV and TalkTalk TV.

"anybody outside UK shores"

You need: 60-90cm dish with good HD LNB feed.

Direct the dish to 28,2°East of the geographical South (180°S). That's where the Astra 2 series satellites have their home.

A good FTA Satellite decoder box. It can download all channels available on Astra 2 series, scrambled and unscrambled.

BBC, ITV, CH4, Film4 are unscrambled FTA.

Yesterday channel is my main documentary channel.

I have been using this in Belgium for the past 12 years. It is a godsend for a lot of "old codger" expats like me living around Europe.

The most interesting/informative part for me, was where the decision was made that the sugar-cube speaker sounded better than the standard round one included in a number of the TTS range. It was suggested that a sugar-cube speaker could be built-in during production. I wonder if this will happen?

Does an 'unrebuilt' BoB sound identical to an 'unrebuilt' MN? Perhaps - both basically the same, one just bigger and heavier?

Maybe it's my OCD, but seeing and hearing 'the specialists' putting so much effort into the sound, then no remotely interested in the number of exhaust beats, or 'chuffs' was very disappointing.

Nice to see focus on one of my favourite YT modellers as well.

It is something which can be setup from what I've read elsewhere, but it should be closer than it is with 'TTS'.

There are speedometers available for R/C cars which have detectors on rotating parts - this kind of thing could be incorporated, and a code set to confirm 'chuff rate' (how many per revolution). If it's available for R/C in some form or other, it won't be that expensive either.

Perhaps I'm mistaken, but .. maybe it's just me, but chuffs per revolution should be prototypical.
