  1. That looks fine. I used to spot a few stops out from Kings X back in the mid fifties/early sixties, and you rarely saw a clean A4.
  2. I have today fitted a Hornby Lord Nelson Class "Lord Rodney" 30863 with a TXS 8pin decoder, speaker and power bank. All very straightforward, but I extended the speaker wires using a 1.25mm plug and socket. This enabled the speaker to be fitted in the loco under the chimney, rather than in the tender - nothing worse than sound coming from the tender - and it is very obvious.🤥 I may rewire the speaker as the new socket sits under the cab floor and catches the track in one or two places.
  3. I just received 200 points because it was my birthday. 😃
  4. @ Colin - Hornby have stated in the past that it takes approximately three years from when someone comes up with an idea, and that idea arrives in the shops. BB
  5. Another who has no knowledge or understanding of conception through to fruition of a new model, but is ready to come on to the forum and moan.
  6. Listen to the advice JJ - as you say you have waited two years for this loco - and paid a lot of money for it. Do not be tempted to have a little go and see what happens.
  7. @Brew Man - Perhaps Hornby will introduce a Bulleid Pacific with steam/sound?
  8. There is a very good (last day or so) Youtube video of the loco in action. I have to say it looks very tempting😕 Video from Shed Spotter 66.
  9. Hi Al - I have the N Class, but number 31404 and weathered. It is fitted with a Bachmann 36-558A 6pin decoder. It runs well.
  10. Yes you can do this - I have done it. I have only had one speaker plug come off, but it was an easy job - albeit with a steady hand🙂 It is the two pads on the reverse side of the decoder - under the position where the speaker plug would have been.
  11. It was good to see that you can post videos in the Gallery.
  12. Thanks Rob - it's not the end of the world. I'll wait until an update will allow members to delete.
  13. How do you delete an image - I appear to have posted one twice?
  14. R3983SS is shown as "In Stock" on this site.
  15. R30225SS is still listed as Autumn 2024 - so not everything arriving?
  16. I'm not sure I would describe it as the "Hattons Brand"? What they have bought is the product database and expansive “Directory” system.. Rails will soon relaunch these services and will continue to update them with new information. A useful source of information.
  17. Tamiya Clear Yellow - it works well, the more coats you apply the darker the lighting gets.
  18. Yes it was - you have a good memory😃
  19. There are two types of Maglight - one is specifically for Mk3 coaches.
  20. I used 12v LED's from a five metre roll bought on ebay. I put a resistor in the circuit, no bridge rectifier, and used, in this case, wheel contacts from DCC Concepts. A dab of Tamiya clear yellow lacquer on the LED's gave the period lighting. The carriages shown have been operating for about five years with no problems. I
  21. I used Woodland Scenics medium grey, with some dark grey and some brown and then well mixed.
  22. This is just a "heads-up" to those who might be interested. I have just renewed my subscription for my Hornby Magazine. I only took out a years subscription (I am running out of room!!) and part of the deal was a free pair of tickets to Key Model World Live at the NEC at the end of April 2024. To me that is a good deal.
  23. I think that being a member of the Collectors Club is worth the money for what is there now or might occur during the year. I know £30 might appear a bit steep, but just by way of comparison, I was in London on Saturday and bought a round of drinks in a pub - eight pints of mixed beers and lagers came to £51.00 - I only bought one round😁
  24. Reward Points are still there. I have just looked at a possible pre-order, and it says I would earn 2500 Reward Points with this purchase.
  25. I have been using that method since I first added loco's to the App. I have found that either portrait or landscape gives you a perfect image - no adjustment required. I use an iPhone 8.
