  1. I think locos were far more expensive compared to todays prices. We are going slightly off topic. We will be sent to our rooms.
  2. I wonder what the mouth-watering wages were when they had the mouth-watering prices of locos? 😆 Look forward to seeing the pictures. In 1966 I was on £28 per month 😮
  3. Very useful tool. If they put it in with each model you could end up with lots of them. Finger nails work very well. Bachmann use the same plug/socket so you could end up with a tool box full 😆
  4. I really don't want to motorise them. I want to be able to move them if necessary. They are fine detailed HO kits and will look just fine as they are. 😆
  5. ....Motor from a mobile phone with the wobbler removed and a sleeve fitted to run an elastic band as the conveyor belt?? This is them. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/172267588184?_trksid=http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/172267588184?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  6. No they're not motorised HB they are only about 1/4 inch wide. Would be good though.
  7. Yes good point HB. Apart from the Wickham Trolley I purchased a set of B'mann loco crew. Two of them are seated and I needed them for the trolley. I repainted them to look like workmen. I also bought a conveyer kit. You get two portable conveyers. I shall use one in the goods yard for loading open wagons and one next to the coaling stage for coaling small locos.
  8. Yes I know that Jacob, I was saying I don't even like Thomas days so I certainly wouldn't want to go on a Thomas holiday.
  9. Not for me I'm afraid. I don't like attending Thomas days at heritage railways. I'm sure you would enjoy it though.
  10. You could say the same for Superman, Robin Hood or Micky Mouse.
  11. Anywhere for real. He was in the imagination of the Reverend Awdry.
  12. I suppose as Thomas didn't really exist it would be difficult to prove they were the wrong size.
  13. Is that right Jacob, I wonder why they use OO wagons. Bit strange as they are mainly for the USA. Bet the Americans aren't very happy about that.
  14. The Bachmann Thomas range is HO so slightly smaller than Hornby.
  15. Jacob it's a joke. We are all little boys playing trains. She Who Must Be Obeyed = SWMBO = wife or partner.
  16. I buy from who ever makes what I want. I'm not loyal to any particular company.
  17. Edward when you said you'd be 89 I thought blimey, then realised I'd be 90 😮
  18. There are some terrific railway guns on the Rails of Sheffield web site and on their eBay site.
  19. I'm afraid you may have to wait a bit longer, maybe the 100th anniversary of the start of WW2.
  20. I've got a couple of their little saddle tanks and they look just right on an OO layout. Your model is really smart.
  21. Welcome Bouncyman. I would guess that the majority of us are between 55 and 80 but our average age is 12 😆
  22. Fantastic isn't it, we went on parts of it in the 80's from the Padstow end.
