  1. Basically you will not fry anything.if you insert a 8 pin decoder the wrong way .you will have worked out there are only two ways .it makes no difference to the motor only to the lighting .
  2. Place your DVT with the motorised loco on the track and programme the address together ( you can use the same address as the motorised loco ).Then using F0 the direction lights should work .you may have to alter the direction of the DVT so red lights when the motorised is white .
  3. Two cv's 30 and 31 appear to offer some adjustment .referred to as stimulation for frequency and level tweek these up and down to see if they effect the motor.reset 8 to CV 8 if you get lost
  4. The drawbar assy can be a problem it slides on the mounting conducting via a screw , give this a clean
  5. Around 3/8" too wide .could cause problems when crossing from one to the other.
  6. You could try altering CV 10 to 0 .there was a bad bad batch of motors some time back . only replacing these will eliminate a bad motor .
  7. From what you are describing the power track is faulty . the select display is normal .to eliminate the power track connect your wires direct to the track ,use croc clips or similar .
  8. The inverter will go to a 240v power board for other (potential) devices as well. So I'll just plug the existing transformers into that. (But now you have me thinking) Use a sinusoidal inverter .some bits of kit do not like pwm inverters.170 w panel should do the trick .add 25% to the inverter power to allow for inductive loads is transformers
  9. With regard to question 2 .As long as DC is enabled via CV 29 your DCC fitted loco will run on DC . The capacitor could corrupt the DCC signal best left out if your layout is using the power connector on both systems.
  10. As long as it fits OK then yes .
  11. Some early diesel failures were attributed to the servicing of diesels and steam in the same shed. The steamers polluted the the diesel engines. Leading to new service sheds being built for diesel only .
  12. Try a 470 uf 25volt.capacitor . it will need to be in the DC side of the circuit .
  13. The point clips will suffice for now ,try not to have all your track feed through 1 point .wire your point motors to the accessory decoder.
  14. Led strip lights will light up your shed then use metal halide spots for focus work .
  15. Underneath the loco cab there is a set of wheels. Remove these and try .does it still derail ?
  16. Err on the side of caution and disconnect the station stop before using the cleaner.
  17. If it is possible with your select ,set CV 10 to a value of 1disabling back emf motor control .
  18. Two things come to mind Jamie. 1. your controller may not enough power to drive the 751 2 .the wheel profile could be different to today's locos and track. Googling the different type of motors will give you a visual heads up on the motors .I do know the R751 is a power hungry model .
