  1. I would suggest leave CV 54 alone and lower CV 55 one at a time see if this gives you the last bit .
  2. Dave does the occur when starting or when stopping ? Reducing CV 56 may help
  3. Two cv's are used to control motor characteristics CV 54 and CV 55 .try adjusting cv54 down /up by a value of 5 then check .continue with this until smooth . CV 55 is useful if the motors have flywheels ,again adjust this by a value of 5 up/down until smooth
  4. Point clips not needed when using elecrofrog points
  5. Hi Adam You will have no problems with the Powercab. I have several different decoders on my layout including Hornby .
  6. Are you using a DCC controller ? .if analogue then possibly DC running is disabled.
  7. A lovely set of pictures .Very well done
  8. The hornby 8244 with the surface point motor works well .use the white post to indicate the centre position.this can have a platform number on its face .
  9. 24/.02 and 12/.02 are the better wiring combination .support the wiring wherever possible .
  10. Get some conkers .place them in your room in each corner .
  11. The Dog is a class 8 .The brittania might be the closest .?
  12. If the capacitor is a short cct then yes otherwise no. Your controller should not blow a decoder .you need to ensure the chassis of your loco is isolated from the motor connections when you have verified this then connect the power.
  13. You will need 5 quad point accessory decoder and 20 point motors. Address the acc decoders and wire up the point motors.
  14. The loco picksup and relays it via the brass coupling on the rear of the loco .disconnect the wires you have soldered and apply a voltage direct to the motor connections.this will confirm a good motor.
  15. Is your duchess tender driven ? . If so you must ensure the motor is electrically isolated from the chassis. The resistor you refer to is probably a rf interference capacitor .the socket you refer to should be OK . With the number of pick up points on a large pacific a stay alive cap could be unnecessary.
  16. Use a 8249 decoder .ensure DC operation is enable via cv29 .fit a switch when you want to turn . leave switch on when in DCC mode
  17. If it is a dapol imperium decoder ,A value of 4 to CV 8 resets the decoder .
  18. Ammended info 8 pin decoder fitted in the tender .
  19. By using function mapping you should be able to play 8 sounds on a locksound 4 which I believe the clun had fitted .you may have to download the loksound decoder via there own website. The sound functions are :- F1 sound on off. F6 Acceleration/Brake. F11 Wheel Flange Screech F2 whistle long. F7 Coal shovelling. F12 Rail Clank. F3 coupling F8 Blow out F4. Whistle short. F9 Valve. F5 injector. F10 Whistle Short #2
  20. Use a clip on every set of points
  21. Following your assumption that they are tender pick ups .Connect them to the red and black wires on your decoder in parallel with your loco pick up wires ensuring you connect the correct side together ie left side loco and left side tender .
