Just noticed this text on the create gallery image option at the top of the page. So looks like user albums are not fully rolled out yet. Interestingly, if I select use exiting album, it seems to allow me to add to the "Cranes" one which you created @96RAF?

Problem: iOS App in iPad started to crash after adding a number of locos with images to the Dongle device. See post below: https://community.hornbyhobbies.com/topic/35259-app-crashes-too-many-dongle-locos Issue reported to HM CC and video of problem was requested. Workaround: None known at current time.

As I've added more locos + images to the dongle (now +60), things have got steadily worse. Now, trying to select the engine shed will crash. Also, if I try to go into the track planner tab at the bottom of the screen, that will also crash. Bottom line, I can control the locos I've added, but unable to add any more because of the crashes. I have soft rebooted the iPad (Power+Home buttons), checked free space (20GB) but I'm unable to resolve things. George asked me to send him a video of the problem, which I've now done. Will have to wait and see the outcome.

I’m slowly adding my DCC locos to the dongle, around 40 so far. Now the app is starting to crash on a 2021 iPad, iOS 17.3.1. This is particularly when I go into manage devices and select the dongle. I guess I need to flag to Hornby unless this is a known issue? (nearly all locos have the default function map loaded)

On iPhone, even horizontal, no tabs visible like you are seeing.

FYI, I also see my screen shot on an iPad. On an iPhone I don't see any tab options but that's probably a Mobile site issue

In the workaround, I found another step needed as highlighted below, unless I've missed something...? .......................... • Find your chosen function map. • Plug in the HM7040 / 'Temp' loco. • Tap decoder selection and then the temp loco • Tap on Import Function Map. ...........................

Dongle now received and all setup with some TTS function imports too using the workaround. My "temp" loco was assigned to the dongle first, then it will always come up when I go through the profiles / decoder selection / import function map step for all my subsequent locos. All straight forward once you work out the button presses . Just another, too many, more locos to add now!

This is the equivalent section to yours, but I'm missing the Albums and about me tabs

+1, just observed the same on iPad vs iPhone. There do seem to be two versions of the site, one for mobiles other for desktop, which is quite normal. Functionality does start to change and get confusing if you regularly go from one to the other!

So (if I click and search hard enough) I have "albums" (empty), "images" (created in member albums), "my attachments" (my forum post images). Also a profile Image tab but no album tab and I do not seem to have the ability to create an Album anywhere. I wonder if normal user accounts don't have all of this enabled yet before I try to delve further?

The penny hasn't dropped in my head yet around all this gallery stuff . Why, what who when !

As a side comment, all this discussion on a Youtuber could mean more clicks to the video and more income for them. Win win That's their motive?! At least every video isn't a blatant "includes paid promotion".

Finally, dongle delivery confirmed by DPD for today. Does highlight the delivery timing differences between Hornby direct and retailers! One advantage for the latter!

On further investigation, Windows 11 browsers work differently! Firefox shows you the image of the video that you can click and watch (as iPad). On Edge, Chrome, Brave you have to download the video first, no picture.

Sorry for any confusion, technically this suggestion can apply to any software / app in DCC, HM7000, RailMaster sub groups etc so I put it in the forum feedback.

Just tried on an iPad with Brave browser and it deleted with a backspace. Too many OS variants these days🤯

Just seen that one, yes that would cover this if workarounds were also added (if they exist), not just the problem. Great minds think alike

Having just picked up on a couple of useful workarounds on here in the last couple of days (around HM7000 dongle function maps and another on sound profiles), I wondered if there would be value in having a "workaround" thread, locked for this type of issue, until its resolved in the respective app/software and then marked as fixed in latest updates? Just a thought.

@The Last Ninja, I am so impressed with the professional standard of your images and that you have resized them to simply import into the HM7000 app without having to mess about adjusting them. I have already grabbed the 2MT and KCIII images, they are far superior to the ones I can take. Personally, this is just what the app needs, trouble is that means +2000 to catch up with RM. Thanks again for all your efforts, so helpful!
