  1. Yes I have the paper manual. Can’t see anything in there that would help. I think it’s a case of getting the sound reblown
  2. What ever I try I’m still not getting the running sound with the locomotive not moving. I get all the other sounds F2 onwards and get the F1 sounds when it’s running.
  3. Sadly there are no Princess Royal Class sound files on the ESU website. The only bit I seem to be missing is the loco sound on F1 when the loco isn't moving as soon as I drive the loco the sound works and all other sounds work on their functions too. I've tried the firmware again it makes no difference.
  4. I have a Hornby 21 pin ESU v4 sound decoder with Princess Royal Class sounds. I’m having a problem where the main sounds on F1 are only working when the loco is in motion. It was working correctly apart from every now and again it would not turn off the sounds on F1 it would make the coal shovelling sound. So I put it on my ESU Lokprogramer and updated the firmware. I think I must have pressed something else in the Lokprogramer by mistake. I’ve tried resetting CV8 to 8 and that doesn’t solve the problem. Has anyone got any ideas what I can do to get it working again? I was hoping to run this over Christmas.
  5. Have a look at marklin traction tyres part number 7153. they fit the Hornby 14xx perfectly I've used them myself with great results there much better than the Hornby originals. also have a look at this video on YouTube https://youtu.be/xGx85OR1fR0
  6. Thanks, Bulleidboy I think I'll save the £30 then
  7. I still can't cancel my pre-order. There doesn't seem to be any way to do that on the website. All the page shows is a list of my previous orders and a list of my pre-orders but you can't change them. I've tried on iPad Mac and windows but no luck.
  8. Does anyone know how you can cancel a pre-order on this website It used to be easy to amend an order on the old Hornby site.
  9. I’ve had this problem with the railroad mk1s with plastic wheels being slightly to big so they scraped on the bottom of the under frame
  10. Thanks The Duke 71000 I may email Hornby and ask them for some replacements Why do they put a coach out with the wrong wheels that doesn't work correctly
  11. I'm using them on 2nd radius curves and the track is nice and flat so that shouldn't be a problem I had already checked that the wheels where correctly located I have fitted some Hornby 12.6 wheels and that solves the problem but makes the coaches sit about 1mm lower than with the original wheels The bigger Hornby wheels are 14.1mm according to the catalogue But I still don't know why they are not running right with the supplied wheels? Surely Hornby would check these kinds of things
  12. I have had some hornby railroad mk1s christmas and when running around the layout they make a scraping noise sometimes like the wheels are rubbing on the bottom of the coach has anyone had this problem? and is there a fix ? maybe fitting different wheels but you should not have to with brand new coaches
  13. Excellent layout for Christmas The baseboard and the cupboards underneath are very neat
  14. I think HSS 360 C Is the sheet for the none railroad model I don't think Hornby has published a service sheet for the railroad B17
  15. The problem is that there is no button to press to upload the photo It could be because the item has sold out as it the same with the rocket train pack So you can't upload any photos of these products
  16. I received my one today I made a video of it running with rocket
  17. I can't upload to the customer images section on the website I wanted to upload a picture of my R40141 L&MR 3RD class coach
  18. The Rivarossi HR2755 Coca Cola Christmas tram sounds interesting is there a link as I can't find it on this website
  19. the wheels in the 71 do seem to get dirty even with the very clean track not sure why. maybe poor metal used for the wheels? I have one from the first batch and I had to return the first one for replacement as the lights would flicker all the time and the wheels were always dirty and it was a poor runner . the replacement is better but still has the wheel issue.
  20. The electric one the Apt-p that's the one Hornby are making
  21. I've never seen one of these motors look so clean.did they ever leave the factory that clean?
  22. It would be great if Hornby would make a sound decoder for the APT. But It may be that the sound file is too complicated to put it on a TTS decoder I have two APT sets on preorder
  23. I have had problems too with my preorders including captain tom. Think I've had to phone customer service three times already this year and I am expecting to have to contact them a few more times this year About time the payment issue was fixed and the website given a complete overhaul.
  24. there should be no problem with changing the body over as there is lots of room inside the west country class .DCC or not
