  1. The big HP Victor K.2 is my latest build project. It was a development of the earlier Cold War V-Bomber, and having the highest payload and other performance characteristics of the 3 V- Bombers was probably the most suitable for the role of In-Flight Refueling Tanker to extend its service life. Work as usual started with the cockpit area. As the aircraft will be displayed in flight pilots would be needed. But I chose to only fit the 2 pilots to save wasting my pilot pool as the other crew members would not be visible ...........
  2. I do have other images and of the build which I can post (1 at a time). I welcome any comments?

  4. The website still won't allow me to upload more than 1 image at a time but I'll press on regardless. Another couple of images of the finished aircraft displayed in flight.
  5. My latest build of the new tool Buccaneer. This is the latest release of the S.2B RAF variant completed in a 1991 Gulf War scheme.
  6. I'll follow your build PMM with interest as I've got this kit in my stash too. The winter camo scheme does look far more interesting, but as you say would be scary to try and apply!!
  7. Thanks 5elect2000. To repeat the point some of the old Airfix tools are still quite good and give enjoyment to the model builder, an some can be added to the Vintage Classics Range. I have recently completed the Hsc126, a Hs 123 and a Bv 141. All are shown on this forum further down on pages 1 & 2.
  8. My phone and my old PC, Chris. Can only think it's the new website glitches as the old site worked better for me!
  9. I've had the same problem for a couple of months now, if you're posting a new thread you can upload several images, but when updating a thread you can only do 1 image at the time. I think it's a software problem at Airfix's end since the new website was launched. A glitch in the system that hasn't been identified or addressed!!
  10. Good finish PB on the G-6 err 2!
  11. Yes it looks a very very good, but some additional closer images would be nice!? And as Kenneth said Airfix require the product code etc if they are to replace a damaged part, but gone are the days when they had an endless supply of kits to supply spares or would adhere to any and many and all requests. Under consumer law your first recourse should be with the retailer you purchased the kit from and Airfix sometimes now revert to this if the kit wasn't bought direct? I hope this helps and you get sorted!
  12. That's a good 1st effort and a good recovery with the under-carriage leg, it will hardly be seen beneath the aircraft so doesn't need to be perfect. And I think that Jolly Green will challenge you again!!
  13. Some old kits do scrub up extremely well. This is my Henschel Hs126 Parasol winged observation aircraft. I forgotten how good this kit was until I did it again recently!
  14. Thanks PMM. I do on occasion like to try something different if the box art inspires me, and I enjoyed trying something different! I like your model too, I'll be doing that scheme soon with something different again planned 🤔?? And thanks Dominic.
  15. The Boomerang was a decent kit in it's day and an usual subject and it's nice to see the odd 1 appear. Well done.
  16. Thanks for the feedback Jess. And another suggestion for you to ponder due to an issue I again came across over the weekend. The Forum search tool! If you want to search for say a Buccaneer build thread, when you enter in the search criteria you will get EVERY thread where the word Buccaneer has been mentioned. On the old Website you only got the build thread with Buccaneer in the heading or title, which I personally would prefer!
  17. Hi Larwence, as it's your first post and you haven't introduced yourself we don't know if you have experience or are a novice. But essentially I view the hobby as modelling, not just kit assembly so therefore some small issues can be expected, but not insurmountable. Major issues are very rare and the new tool kits are very very good but older tooled kits won't be as good due to the technology available when they were designed/produced and some toolings will be tired.
  18. Thanks for the positive comments Tomek and Ed, I really enjoyed the build and giving it a modern make over. And as you say doing a proper job of a kit that I probably totally messed up 3 decades ago! And I cheated, an Eduard mask set for the canopies, and an Eduard PE set for the cockpit. Yes the PE set was meant for an ICM Fw189 but as both aircraft share an almost identical cockpit nacelle pod, I pressed ahead and fitted what I could, plus some plastic card scratch building 👍!
  19. Yes hopefully Heather or I might just have to repost my build thread? But anyway a quick Google search shows that 22 Sqn were re-equipping with the Beaufort from Apr 1940 so it would fit your 1940 criteria, it would just depend when the airframe serial N1016 arrived on squadron to be able to use all the kit decals?
  20. Thanks Heather and will look forward to seeing yours once you get the correct decals for your 1940s era builds. Incidentally I know a favourite aircraft of yours is the Hampden and wondered if you saw my rework of the old kit I did about a year ago with a full interior and new engines before the demise of the old Forum?
  21. Thanks Paul and Jopres for comments. And yes back in the 70's which I consider to be Airfix's hayday they produced some excellent and unusual moulds of rare aircraft that other manufacturers stayed clear of. I also built this kit back then but think I made a better job of it this time lol!
  22. But due to the on going upload issue with the website, it'll be 1 at a time.
  23. Just another couple of images to wet your appetite.
