  1. If the loco came in 2013, 2018 and now 2020, what's the problem? Your title makes it seem like Hornby are giving you the same loco and same livery every year for the last decade. Last year the club loco was a Bagnall shunter in a nice but fictional Network Rail livery. The problem with an 0-6-0 is that all of Hornby's 0-6-0 locos are actually based on real locos that carried real liveries. Their 0-6-0s are moreoreless dimentionally accurate. Hornby's 0-4-0s though based on sometheing that did exist at one time, they are NOT dimensionally accurate and most if not all are based on one offs and/or small classes. It's easier to apply fictional liveries to fictional models. The 0-6-0s can be used to make models based on a number of real locos.
  2. The May edition of The Engine Shed is out now. Quite possibly the longest and most detailed edition ever? https://www.hornby.com/uk-en/news/the-engine-shed/dining-mk1rb-testing-advanced-passenger-train
  3. It looks brilliant 81F. And yes I believe the mount is on the wrong side.
  4. Still multiple gauges worlwide RAF. Australia is famous for it's multiple gauges I believe.
  5. Well looks like a well known retailer and the Irish boys have announced their intentions to make a Class 89. Another one off the list. Brilliant!! What is a little disappointing though was the fact that my team mate - Hayley just spent the best part of one month designing a highly detailed Class 89 kit. And all in all the kit was far cheaper than what's to come. It is what it is though.
  6. I completely agree with this comment. Elsewhere on here, I have mentioned how much I look forward to seeing your posts and the 3D printed models. If you are responsible for the decoration and weathering - that's not bad either. 😀. Keep them coming. R- Hey Roger, I did the design work and assembly, Hayley painted it and Kaustav has weathered it....
  7. India has 4 gauges i.e. - BG - 1676mm - MG - 1000mm - NG - 762mm - NG - 610mm The Indian Railways doesn't use SG, the only SG track in India comes in the form of metro systems like Bangalore's Metro and every other city exacelt Calcutta and Delhi. The Calcutta Tramways runs on SG as well. In modelling form, my aim is to try and cover as many Indian Railways prototypes as possible. To simplify this I have just gone for 16.5mm to represent BG, 12.0mm to represent MG and 9.0mm to represent NG. But all my BG and MG kits are customizable to a point where the end customer can choose between 22.0mm, 18.83mm and 16.5mm to represent BG and 14.2mm and 12.0mm to represent MG.
  8. I hope you'll are enjoying these pics. I believe no one up until Hayley (my work partner), Tim, Kaustav and myself have modelled the Indian Railways with such detail and accuracy. So I really hope you'll are enjoying these pics.

Cheers!
  14. I'm sure Hornby will give us some Mk4 coaches that will match the recently announced Class 91s soon.
  15. A sincere requst to Hornby....PLEASE PLEASE update the Class 87 with the sprung pantograph. It will bring your super-detailed AC electric range to ine standard. I'm sure the older posable plastic pantograph can be used/provided as a spare with your Hornby RailRoad Class 86, Class 90 and Class 92. I know it's a direct replacement as I've seen a few people swap them over.
  16. Not much of a steamy, but that W1 in both it's avatars look marvellous! The original W1 looks ugly (no offence to any W1 lovers), but still has it's own charm I say. And the rebuilt one just looks magnificent. My main area of interest is ofcourse modern image. And the Class 91 has me doing the happy dance. If at all, it just shows that Hornby listens. They've taken 2 years worth of feedback from the Class 87 and updated the Class 91 with a sprung pantograph and it's also got metal parts in it. So it's robust enough to run with OHE installed. What the CAD images have also shown is that detail wise, it's matched the proposed Cavalex one that has now been cancelled. Brilliant one. I am looking forward to my Class 91. Now where's those Mk4 coaches Hornby? Great job with the ScotRail Mk3SD coaches too. And I'm glad Hornby has continued to give us information on prototypical rakes. And those blister packs of containers look just as good.
  17. The April edition of The Engine Shed is now up. ECML bumper edition as the title says. I'm sure you'll will find it full of content. https://www.hornby.com/uk-en/news/the-engine-shed/east-coast-line-bumper-edition Enjoy the read folk! Cheers JB

  19. I hope they do something similar for the GWR and ScotRail HST sets too...
  20. Definitely an informative blog regarding the Cross-Country HST units. I really wish I had the funds to pick up a ScotRail or Cross Country HST set with the new Mk3SD coaches. Thanks Hornby for the special Easter Egg edition. Cheers
