Hi so I just bought the cmr bristol m1c (the old tool from the eastern bloc) and it is one of the old kits with no decals. does anybody know where some would be available for a reasonable price- the kit is 1/72.

Just to be difficult and obstinate Lets have MG k3, J2, C , D , F1 2 ,PA, PB. In 1/12. Back in the real world, some of the pre war cars in the v/c range and some new tool ww1 aircraft: taube, pup, scout D, albatros c1 and a new avro 504 in 1/72. (of course over the next few years).

Why not just give up on the idea of airfix doing cars and just buy a slot car body, some axles, wheels and just do it that way, plus you can buy a pointed tail k3 of twin cam a7 only as slot car bodies!

It does have metal wings and a 3 bladed prop, just it is in a different boxing. You must have the early version not the BoB era version.

So today, went into hobbycraft to get some paints and thinners and told that I was not able to buy anything because I was under 18. Does anybody know why this PC waste of my time law covers airfix glues and even acrylic paints? I get it with other glues but what glue sniffer is going to be buying precision poly cement and acrylic matt 33? P.S. I got my mum to say my money was hers and pay for it. 😎

Trust me, the primer helps a lot because you can thin the paints a lot more so getting a smooth finish with less brush marks.

Get some primer and use tamiya xf acrylics for the best results on a budget- it is worth the extra cost. P.S. Use tamiya or humbrol liquid poly for glue, forget the kit stuff. What kit are you building? Also use this guide for painting, it improved mine a lot.

The new club is being launched next month, flying hours are uneffected. That is all I know.

When I was in that part of the world last year, in a model shop I saw no airfix at all. I belive it is to do with there being so many domestic brands, i.e: it is easier to ship 1000 revell models over the border than 1000 airfix kits across the atlantic. As for south africa, it can't be that hard to fly models down there. Hundreds of flights daily go there so why not airfix, or maybe they ship them over not fly them?

Agreed, we need to do more to get people off computers. At school it is like "so whats your hobby?" "making models." "LOL thats dead!" "So whats your hobby?" "FORTNITE! BETTER THAN YOURS!" "Thats not a hobby, thats like watching tv" I thinks all schools should have model making in art/DT and that more ipms branches should be welcoming to children. If I had a model shop I would give discounts to under 18s.

Just been thinking,I am the only person who often makes kits. Thats bad. How can we get more young people into the hobby?

Maybe It could have the decals for the prototype like the FAA museum one. That looked differant to the production version, like the model.

I see there are 2 kits being reissued this year. One is the boac funny nose kit. Is the other with 2 schemes the later model?
