Aad Gadgie
Try this:Argos Home LED Desk Lamp - Black226/6433I happened to be in the market for such a lamp, and also happened to see this post - thanks, S2000! I checked the Argos website & it was on offer at £19.99 but, when I went to buy one yesterday, it had gone back to its original £30.00 price. I bought it anyway, and it's just the job - thanks again for the tip!
Marcus Hassall
With my ageing eyes, I find I need 4 lamps angled in from different directions, plus reading glasses! But white light LED is a must for at least some of the lighting, it is fabtastic, almost as good as sunlight. Kenneth ONeill
You could try second hand furniture shops and antique fairs. Take physical money, and ask something like "What's the absolute death for cash in hand?"
Frederick Kullas
Poundstretcher sells an 'angle poise' style light for £17.99. It takes an E14 fit bulbI bought similar ones through ebay for £9.99 each [inc postage] but that was a few years ago.Have a laugh on me; I thought I'd buy another light for one of my other desks. I didn't want to pay the Poundstretcher price so I found a similar light unit but with a LED light bar fitted on ebay. Inc postage £13.98. I didn't read the details about the light unit. It needs a USB power plug. I've had to buy that, at £3.90. Total = £17.88. A saving of 11 pence!
