R 30052 number 32651 is described by Hornby as freelance, and for me, none the worse for that. 42021 looks the same outline, but has different colour and location of lining, and different BR emblems. They look to be cheeky attractive locos, I have 42021 winging it's way to me from the bay, and 32651, due in May, on preorder

Yes Hornby have been very "Sneaky" I have found when they Number their Club Locos in a sneaky way - for example - in 2013 I received a Green Southern Pug 0-4-0 Loco Numbered "3102" which is 2013 backwards - take a look at this video & you will see what I mean...

Also Break up that of 42021 to 4 (not sure what the 4 is for) but the "2021" is obviously is this years date!!!" 🙂🚂🚂🚂

4, was the prefix given to most ex LMS locomotives after nationalisation, by BR.

3, being ex SR locomotives.

6, being ex LNER locomotives.

Ex GWR locomotives, with the cast number plates, retained their GWR numbers, no prefix being applied.

Quite clever, turning 2013 into ex SR loco 3102.

That number would suit an ex LBSCR, and SR, Class E2 0-6-0.

That being the loco model that Hornby modified to make Thomas....

The club loco is the 0-4-0 version of Thomas, so, theoretically based on the E2 design, shortened and otherwise messed with to produce a short version of Thomas...but presented with an Ex LMS locomotive number!

Must remember, it’s actually a toy! wink

my 2021 club loco is on its way back to hornby. After the burn out issues. Took them a number of days to get back to me but funny that soon as i reached out to them via a social media response i had a phone call from hornby. They requested it sent back to be investigated as they are concerned as to why it burnt out.

42021 is a "Freelance" model. i.e. similar to R3212, R3360, R3752 - all Railroad models.

Thomas is an 0-6-0 Tank! R30039 is also a Railroad model (derived from "Thomas") and numbered 326 in SE & CR green livery.

Hornby have done 5 different 0-6-0Tanks, i.e. 3F Jinty, A1X Terrier, E2, J50, and J83.

R30039 does not match any of them. Perhaps we should call it Freelance (2) as an escapee from the Thomas stable.

Hi Anglia, Hornby also produced a 0-6-0 wheel arrangement for the smaller Thomas body.

Two were push-along type locos, one was a clockwork loco.

Three versions, two had flat wheels, one very rare example had flanged wheels.

The flanged wheel version cannot be faked as it has a different chassis.

The flangeed wheel versions are possibly preproduction, or factory errors.

Rare flanged wheel version at top.
