  1. I like to know what is coming. I would hate to kit bash a cherished model, only tp find, 2 years down the line, that my sought after model was available.
  2. Try a search on this forum, about 2 years ago morairamike fitted a CD drive motor kit. Ignore this, different motor
  3. Another vote for the Combi, apart from smooth loco operation, adequate power output and the loco does not annoyingly buzz, like they do with some other controllers
  4. Hi Alberto, thank you for the video, I think the F7 is a GREAT loco, I have one in Santa Fe passenger warbonnet livery, my favourite. I don't know if it's true, but I read somewhere that when it was announced to top brass, seated in a large room, it made a huge impression... when it was driven in through the wall.
  5. Programmable logic controller ? No, wouldn't know one if I saw one
  6. Gaugemaster supply a 20v controller, listed in their G Scale catalogue.
  7. Have a look at the huge Gaugemaster controller range, all guaranteed for life. If you are not sure of what you see on their web site, they are helpful on the phone, If you choose one of their single controllers, you can always add another for additional circuits. You want additional circuits.... they do controllers for FOUR tracks
  8. Does it really mean 13ft 9inches ?.... NO it doesn't ! This is not a measure of the height, it is a measure of the clearance, which has strict rules for measurement, including..... On a horizontal road, the height is measured accurately, and rounded down to the nearest 3 inches, ANOTHER 3 inches is then deducted. This is the CLEARANCE height displayed on the bridge. On a bridge with an incline approach there are more complicated rules, because an approaching/leaving vehicle roof will be at an increased height, measurements will vary depending on the gradient and it's proximity to the bridge .
  9. There is a powered turntable on on THAME BAY. facebook £15 with controller
  10. And Hornby don't do this? Am I misremembering the Titfield Thunderbolt fiasco?
  11. Hornby are infamous for lack of attention, or don't care. Mediterranean Ship Containers (MSC) are advertised MCS ! I think it is their APT advertised in Mirror image, so all the front details are transposed . Class66 pictures with written descriptions of different locos, these are copied and pasted by retailers, so the don't care attitude is sent round the world. Box contents incorrectly described on box. Whistles fitted upside down, The Avalon building bungalow box contents described as including a locomotive, HST couplers at different height I have given up emailing them.....If anybody asks what trains I have, I only admit to Lehmann.
  12. In a recent World of Hornby , a Hornby designer was shown climbing onto a locomotive in front of the smoke box, I hope he wasn't making notes of the commentary which described him as being on the footplate.
  13. If you need help with traction, DCC Concepts supply sets of magnets for locos, and a sort of metal underlay called PowerBase, and TODAY ONLY Rails of Sheffield are selling at 35% discount
  14. As another HST fan, I share your frustration, pushing, as opposed to pulling has never been a strongpoint with other set ups. When you consider that the whole concept of the full size HST was to run in both directions, you would hope that the model would.
  15. My school bus used to take me over the Dover Road bridge,Slough, and across the main rail lines from Paddington, I could look down on the roof of Gerry Andersons production unit.
  16. So, the show has been open for half an hour, Rapido and Heljan have made their announcements.......Oh, it's a BR Princess Coronation 4-6-2 "Coronation" No. 46220
  17. @Going Spare, thanks for that. I have just received my new RR 125 and spare traction tyres were included, I had naively thought they would fit all my old 125 locos, now I won't leave them in my general spare box, until I mark them clearly.
  18. If the hugely improved headlight lens fit is anything to go by, the latest model has been updated.
  19. @atom3624, I noticed your comment about using superglue. I have just bought some to refix a side screen to a Heljan loco. Any advice on what to use other than superglue would be very much appreciated.
  20. @Bryce, I think your search will be made even more difficult if you decide to go for Kitchen, parlour, brake or different classes. I searched for ages for white roof, all first class, Kitchen and parlour, smooth sides. If you want different names as well, you may have to resort to renaming. I made a few mistakes on the way, especially in the early days and wrongly acquired some grey roofs, match boards and non first class. Good luck in your hunt
  21. Pleased to announce the early arrival of HST 125 Swallow Executive Railroad, Was promised for Monday, so Saturday morning was a pleasant surprise. It will run with the dual bogie drive model, and an assortment of 20ish year old models. I do like the Class 43.
  22. My boys used to run Playmobil electric GScale train sets, if we ran two or more electric motors in the consist, we used an extra power controller, from a set , coupled to the track in the normal way, to turn up the power to the motors when needed. Also worked well for our later two LGB EMD F7A units when running together (4 motors) No cutting out, no fuses blew, and it made good use of the spare low power controllers from the Playmobil sets. My impression was though that anything Playmobil and LGB was rugged well engineered quality and built to last. So for us, just using an extra controller worked well.
  23. I always thought it a shame that radius 4 in OO would not fit on a UK 8 X 4 sheet of ply, and resorted to the flooring size 10 X 5. I had never heard of TT, well ,I had, but that was Twix Twin that I owned as a boy, and nothing to do with the newTT. ....@RDS, thank you for the info that R4 fits an 8 X 4 board, I had received written info from a national retailer that the track overhung ,and I never measured it ! New 8 x 4, 4 loop layout in the planning...in your 8 x 4, 22mm do you still use battens?
