Hornby Rewards - Use with care

In the process of placing an order for £32 worth of kits (qualifying for free shipping) I selected to use 400reward points to get £4 off. Luckily I noticed that the website had now re-added shipping of £3.95 and rapidly unticked the reward point box.

Spend 400points and save 5p, I don't think so.

I think what's happened there is that when you applied the £4 off it took your order to £28 and hence you lost your free postage. The system isn't intuitive enough to allow for that. I've posted about the reward points on the website forum as I found that if you select PayPal or Clears Score when your directed to the third party website the reward points discount has been lost and your being charged the full price

Hi, You also have to apply the same logic when ordering as a Club member. When your discount is deducted the cost of the items can sometimes drop below the "free postage" qualifier.

When I view my points, then try to use them, I get Error 404. What's happening here?

There was a problem with the site earlier... if it continues contact customer care using the links at the bottom of the page...

There still appears to be an issue applying the Hobby points. I placed an order and when prompted clicked on the tick box to add my Hobby points. After payment cleared the hobby points have not been added. I was keen to take advantage of the double points promotion. Now having the hassle of contacting customer services.
