roy_fitzsimmonds
I see Scalextric have just announced a brand new tooling of the E Type for 2017.I wonder - is there any hope it might pop up as an Airfix kit too? After all, the Aston DBR9 and Jaguar XKR turned up as kits about 6 months after the Scaley cars...I sincerely hope so. Rogerbass
Scalextric used Airfix LIDAR scanning technology, but a Scalextric tooling is different to Airfix
Ratch
They have used product originated by Scalextric before - the 1/32 Vodaphone McLaren Mercedes MP4-21 issued in 2008.
MG Writer
A really interesting article about the work done by Hornby on the new Scalextric Jaguar E Type - and there is even an interesting reference to Airfix archives and the information they had collected all those years ago when they were researching for the 1:32 E Type Airfix kit! Worth a read... https://www.scalextric.com/uk-en/news/testtrack/scalextric-and-the-most-beautiful-car-ever-made/

roy_fitzsimmonds
I hope Airfix do this one.The current kit REALLY needs updating.Surely they must realise that there's NOBODY currently making a decent kit of this motoring landmark? Rogerbass
Nothing from the Scalextric MGB has been passed over to the Airfix one, not even the grill
Ratch
A big hint to a new tool E-Type on the advent calendar today.

MG Writer 2
It looks like 2022 might have some automotive excitement judging by that Advent video!
Frederick Kullas
That video certainly gives a strong hint at a 2+2 E-type. But what scale? and will it be a 'Quickbuild'. We've only 2 more weeks to go until we find out
Kenneth ONeill
E-type 2+2 also makes me think of a full series 2 or even a series 3.
Rogerbass
Why is the Jag going to be 1.43 scale, am I missing something, thought it would be 1.
Captain Triggers
I expect that the rally cars sold well. Compare these to the prices of most 1/43 kits and you can see why!
Rogerbass
So the new Jaguar E type is one of the new simpler starter kits.
