NWR-Gordon-4
I've never been to that Hornby Hobbies shop in Swindon, but I really want to go. Did you notice any bargains on any of the Thomas items in the shop, Clownfish01? GNR-Gordon-

NWR-Gordon-4
Welcome back to the forum, new lad on block. Nice new locomotive you have there and I love that image you have posted. The detail on that layout is billiant. The country road below the bridge, looks very realistic, as well as the river next to the road. I would love to see more images of yoyr layout, perhaps in a new topic? GNR-Gordon-

The son of Triangman
Yet another Tri-ang dock shunter, a non-runner off ebay for £12. I reckon I can get it going, loco has the later code 100 wheelsets so worth doing.

The son of Triangman
Bit of rust on the wheels, the loco has the later wheelsets for code 100 track. This dock shunter will live again, I seem to accumulating black and red dock shunters!/media/tinymce_upload/5e627d58d1408a0e15e4c40333f75de3.jpg/media/tinymce_upload/9ddd38ceaf86000abf0ee5e4b75f6a90.jpg
walkingthedog
Apart from the rust patches it's in great external condition SoT. Wish I still had mine, I've no idea where it went.
The son of Triangman
I agree it's a beauty, the rust is very easy to get rid of. They are great little locos, might be worth seeking one out for your collection, there are some good examples out there. I would go for a later one like this one with the later wheelsets it saves a lot of work converting over to code 100.
96RAF
Some tiny (0603 size) red and white smd leds to mend my Class 56 lights. 50 of each for less than the cost of the post and packing....and a big bag of press stud clips for my car at a fraction of the price I paid at my main dealer for a tenth the qty, so I got 100 for £7 instead of Nissans 10 for €20. The whole car seems to be held together by them and the harsh Cyprus environment ensures they fall out regularly. All from China with free P&P and received in less than two weeks.Rob
NWR-Gordon-4
That is small. Is it a HO Gauge locomotive? It looks like it could be, to me. Is that the shunter you bought from eBay for £12.00, that is a non-runner, The son of Triangman? GNR-Gordon-
walkingthedog
It's OO Jacob. It was the second loco my dad bought for our train set in the 50’s.
The son of Triangman
It's oo scale Jacob, a former Tri-ang moulding. This one cost me £12 as a non-runner, it just needs some tlc. I've bought two of these in the last three weeks
NWR-Gordon-4
@walkingthedog and @The son of Triangman I know it is a OO Gauge locomotive, but it small and looks like a HO. The image makes it look like a HO locomotive anyway. Maybe it is bigger real life, than the size it looks in that image. @The son of Triangman Have you got her running yet? 81F
An old Lima Evas & Bevan open wagon with very worn lettering to donate a pair of coupling to an a lima milk tanker I have. It worked out cheaper to buy this wagon and salvage the couplings than it would have to done to have bought the couplings as spares. As an added bonus it looks as if the previos owner has fitted spoked hornby silver seal wheels - an added bonus for the spares box!
The son of Triangman
There are signs of life Gordon, the armature tries and the coils are all good. A good clean up and strip down service is on the cards for the dock shunter. I will fit a new supressor and new wiring to original spec as well and a new pickup spring. NWR-Gordon-4
Good to hear. You sound like you know your stuff, with the motors in model railway locomotives. I wouldn't know how to service one, or get one running! 😆 GNR-Gordon-

Jeff Mennell
Some Coca-Cola for cleaning some old track. Seems to work very well on ns track but not on steel although it was noticebly easier to polish off the grey stuff after immersion so not a dead loss, WTD! LCDR
A SR insulator 'pot' given to me by an engine driver friend. Apparently found amongst some rubbish in Scotland, heaven knows how it came to be there 400 miles from the Southern Region/ London Transport! Came with some recycled track maybe??
