  1. Good morning/afternoon Graskie, had your breakfast yet. Locos sound (excuse the pun) very nice.
  2. It's a good place to point out railway or railway modelling news as you did PJ.
  3. I think we should have a new section entitled 'Oh no the plasticine prototype hasn't got separate handrails' where the worriers can get things off their chests and worry each other.
  4. Sultan I wish people would do as you said. Some get really worked up about forthcoming locos, who's going to did this, what will that look like, can it do something else? Perhaps they just enjoy worrying.
  5. If somebody purchases an exclusive club model and decides to sell it I can't see a problem with that.
  6. Also you don't have to be a member to use this forum it's open to one and all.
  7. I'm afraid you've got your wires crossed Batfink. The Great Goodbye has nothing to do with Club members. It was/is on general sale, the Sheffield retailer has them on line.
  8. Rayarpino that's exactly what I'd do if I wanted 6 A4s, which I don't.
  9. A limited edition isn't a limited number of models any more but a limited number in a special scheme. A British Airways Deltic or a Railfreight VC10.
  10. I think you might make a few bob if you sold them straight away but as an investment, no chance. Buy a painting instead. If I wanted 6 A4s I'd want them all BR or LNER not a mixture.
  11. These will be purchased by the display only brigade in my view. There's a lot of people out there with money to burn, good luck to them. I would imagine the cabinets are made to order. Doesn't take long to make a cabinet from standard parts.
  12. cooped said: For £1399!! According to their website Model Railways Direct have 4 available for £1049. The price is irrelevant to me as I never buy Limited Editions of anything.
  13. Had an email from a shop in Sheffield today with the set available.
  14. Do I have to have a Flying Scotsman BB. I've got an A3 Pretty Polly will that do?
  15. They are special editions though aren't they complete with etched nameplates, bells and whistles etc. All companies that make things tend to do social editions whether it's watches, cars or toy trains and they charge a bit more.
  16. Maybe I'm wrong but I was under the impression that this was a set of six, not six individual locos. As they're special edition I guess they will be more expensive than ordinary A4 models. Do they actually exist as individual locos? There are a lot of people willing to spend a lot on locos. On another thread there's a discussion about a set of seven OO coaches at £345 + vat each.
  17. I'm confused, it was The Great Goodbye, not Goodbye an A4. Of course they wanted to sell them as a set. As for 'Hornby are now only out to make money' what's that supposed to mean, they a business not a charity. Heaven forbid that a company should dare to make money. They have to pay wages, buy materials, pay tax etc. If they don't make money they won't exist. I think you will find the blue box version was even more.
  18. They were available from Hornby over the weekend. I got a few emails from them reminding me to give them a call.
  19. Two BR (Ex GWR) Horse Boxes R6623. Ordered from Hornby mid day yesterday arrived 0945 this morning. Great service.
  20. Two 3 axle milk wagons and a grill/fan detailing kit for a Class 52.
  21. That's what yelrow said, will work WITH Hornby not for. I dare say they will get an equally good person to replace him, there are a lot of fine people out there. He's laid good foundations.
  22. Graskie said: Never heard of him. Please don't moderate this message, Hornby. That's strange Graskie. He said he's never heard of you either.
