  1. lack of space to have a tall unit pushed me down this route and im not disappointed with getting this at all, it fits great with the option of laying it on its side like i had to it works well in the low space giving me a decent area on top for displaying as well as the four top squares i will use the bottom squares for storing some of my stash, im looking to put a calex light strip i picked up from tesco into it which can turn different colours giving a different aspect to things whilst brightening up a dull area. ike do a unit with slightly smaller squares (i cant remember its name) but im really glad i didn't buy that one.
  2. the Lancaster just fits in with a little bit of room left and the door will shut, it would be a tight squeeze with anything bigger.

    Fairey Rotodyne

an interesting build i hadn't realised just how short the wings are
  4. turned out well ratch good to see that the ladder has helped.
  5. I'm more interested in military aircraft preferably WWII but i have got some of the older jets some built some in my stash and I've got a few WWII support vehicles waiting to be made , but looking at the new tanks im getting a bit of interest in them now.
  6. a quick test to see if the bigger aircraft will fit clearly they wont fit this way the wingspan is too big to close the door. it will fit nicely like this and the door will close.
  7. had a trip to ikea and had a look at the shelfs to fit in the kallax shelving, i could have got just a glass shelf that fitted in but i would have had to mess about measuring and drilling my own holes to fit this and get it level, i decided to get the insert that you build up this comes with holes already drilled for the shelf but the main reason i went for this is that it has a back to it and comes with a glass door so should help to keep the dust down. the screws that hold the hinges in place also screw into the shelving holding it all in place so things cant fall out of the back unlike they could with just a shelf, two screws go into the opposite side to help secure it all, the glass door can be put on to open from either side.

  15. Airfix is the main one with humbrol but i do have a few corgi models and I've bought a bit of Hornby as I'm helping my son build a model railway
  16. the dark green was BS641 and in 1988 it was re numbered to BS241 and is slightly different in colour between the two, vallejo BS 241 dark green is BS dark green 71.324 this is a decent sight for colours and there numbers its where i got BS641 from there is a section on just lightnings, the part of colour number change is under tactical aircraft 1965-1995, lots of reading if you like that sort of thing. Aircraft Colors and Camouflage, Royal Air Force (Modern) - Resources - The World Wars.net look on Vallejo site under downloads look for historical colour reference guide and download it its where i got the Vallejo reference from
  17. Doing the turrets for the Lancaster and used Tamiya extra thin cement quick setting on them, after building the front turret i noticed the clear part was missing its locating pin, so i tried to prise it apart to see how well the clear part and normal plastic part was stuck and no chance its really held the parts together and so far no fogging. And i do have a Lancaster kit i bought for spare parts.
  18. oyster white is a new one to me, not seen an aircraft that colour before.
