  1. The R8206 has a capacitor under the black cover, this is for DC track only.........the R8241 is without capacitor so is for DCC track only........if you change from DC track to DCC track the black plastic cover can be lifted and the capacitor snipped out.........HB

Thought I would add TTS to my NRM City of Truro............firstly it needed a 21 to 8 pin adapter......... /media/tinymce_upload/222eb01bd8db246dbbc6ec1f4152d934.jpg but when the 8 pin was plugged in it was too high so body would not fit...........also the round speaker is too wide so will need a small sugar-cube......... /media/tinymce_upload/7999c9a65037be905751d6aa4a3c991c.jpg shucks, will have to get a 21 pin sound decoder......... 🤔............HB

  12. My latest two new models..........a King and a T9.   14. Just installed the Fowler 2P TTS sound decoder into the tender of my new Hornby SR T9 with a sugar cube speaker...........works a treat 😀..........only mod needed was to remove the weights..........HB

  16. Always worth taking photos of packaging and items when they arrive to show any tears, holes and damage then you have the evidence if needed.........HB

Jimbo...........Hornby only list X8011 as the spare.........I don't believe there are a,b or c variants.......just ebay sellers trying to make theirs look different.......all the holes in the components they fit into are the same size so I would just order whichever is the best deal...........HB

    Elite burn out

    Many thanks to you all for your replies and advice.........I have ordered a couple of replacement Mosfets from RS-online, only ÂŖ2.40 with free postage.......further research was interesting..........the programming side of the circuit works perfectly as does the 15v DC aux output so all is not lost if the track output side fails to repair, it can be used as a dedicated programmer and accessory output.........HB
