When the capacitors are connected in parallel then the total capacitance will equal their sum........so two 1000uF in parallel will give a total of 2000uF........however, is there enough room for two?.........one larger capacity capacitor could be a better option.........I would query the actual capacitance of the DCD-ZNSA1 because if it isn't of sufficient capacity it will be a waste of time and money........your need at least 2200uF to have any meaningful effect IMHO......HB

@Urbarm8.........the Elite can operate 29 functions ie.F0 to F28.......so there must be a problem with your particular set up or decoder.........HB

Alan.........there must be hundreds of Elite controllers in use and possibly hundreds of TTS decoders so a dozen queries on this Forum is not a lot........bear in mind most problems are resolved by discussing on this Forum.........I only have 7 TTS decoders and the Elite and not had any problems.........I certainly would not go back to DC now.......but no criticism of DC, it's just a different system....... 😀.........HB

Just fitted a TTS decoder into the tender of the Hornby LNER B12/3 loco........surprised to find that the weight was specifically shaped to sit over the supplied speaker so the install was very easy.......didn't sound very good with the tender body off but once fitted it was totally different and very acceptable so, on this occasion, I will not fit a 'Sugar Cube'.......As a result of previous experience with TTS I changed CV150 to =1 but this was not good so reverted back to =0 and loco ran perfectly (Castle Class TTS).......... 😀..........HB /media/tinymce_upload/ad0d3422d5aa7eb03148edaf99b47af3.jpg

A Dapol 'N' gauge GW pannier.........thought I would dig out some 40 year old N gauge track and rolling stock and make up a temporary layout for grandson, (possibly).........the Ford wagons are Hornby Minitrix, the coaches are Trix, the Diesel shunter is Fleischmann all 40 yrs old and the Class 31 is new Dapol........the mini motor controller is fed by a Hornby R965 DC controller.......delivers a much smoother supply to the N gauge motors for better slow speed running.........HB /media/tinymce_upload/2be4407eb5303c51dd5fd166e4b7da60.JPG

Mick..........two simple checks come to mind.........is the decoder fitted the correct way round and check the continuity of the two wires to the speaker.........also, to correct jolty running change CV150 to 1.........HB

I'm very fortunate as I have better than 20/20 vision with my Varifocals.......HB

A Soundtrax Econami 21 pin British Steam sound decoder and Zimo Dumbo Speaker.........thought I would get one to compare with Hornby TTS and ESU Loksound V4.0 decoders.........it was installed into a Patriot 4-6-0 loco..........there are many options available to enable best sound choice ie.....light, medium or heavy chuff,......... 2,3 or 4 cylinders and, importantly, ability to synchronise the chuff rate.........a comprehensive list of CVs for various fine tuning if desired.........on a par with the Loksound decoders and much more scope than the TTS .......the price at £67 is between the two others and fills a gap admirably.........the sound quality through the Zimo Dumbo speaker is tremendous, in fact was so loud until volume reduced to a comfortable level........ 😀.... .HB

It's not quite clear from your post, Steve, but I guess you're saying that you put the loco on the main track and used the Program on Main facility on the Prodigy which would have a slighly better output for the TTS to read?.......HB
