  1. These instructions are for the R3184 2 car set, should be similar........HB /media/tinymce_upload/673626660b33cef1517f67b040daa8d0.jpg
  2. Jimmy..........I have just watched the beginning 5 minutes of you unboxing the East Coast Highlander........what struck me immediately was the lack of light, in that room you need at least two 100watt light bulbs to help your video camera resolve what it sees and this would also help the focussing which was a bit out.........also, may I suggest you write a prepared script to describe each component in a logical order to make your commentary flow smoothly.........you've done several now so you should find it quite easy.......hope this helps and keep practising.......HB.
  3. Chrissaf translated it yesterday...........keep up........... 😮..........HB
  4. Would suggest you check the voltage output of the lighting contacts in case you need to fit resistors in circuit to protect the leds.........HB
  5. Back in the 50's, teenage holidays in France treading grapes in a winery.......... 😆..........HB

  9. See LCD Display Guide on page 28 of the Select Operator's manual..........HB
  10. The BUS connects directly to the controller or Elink then 'droppers' connect from the BUS to each section of track making sure that correct polarity is observed and tested each time a 'dropper' is soldered........HB
  11. Arrived today, bought in the Hatton's sale, a BR Standard Class 4MT, DCC ready. Very pleased, ran perfectly out of the box.......thought I would compare it with the Hornby Dublo version from 1954. Big difference in level of detail.........HB /media/tinymce_upload/5989920e107771ad3be73a5bd60f8439.jpg /media/tinymce_upload/f3bf122b0e943dc1bf14a297df8ff10a.jpg

  13. Thanks for that, Rob, very useful info..........HB
  14. I eventually established the reason for my Elite burn out....... there was insufficuient heat-sink grease........if I had had realised at the time as the box was heating up I could have stopped using it and fixed it but I'm a novice........however all is not lost because the programmimg side of this Elite still works........I picked a pre-owned Elite for £167 so not a major setback.........HB
  15. I thought it significant that these recent sets include the HM2000 twin cab controller, that's got to be worth £90........then with the track plan book would encourage buyers to extend to the multi-loop layout via the purchase of Trak packs........certainly a better strategy than just providing the cheapy controller.........I'm sure there will be plenty of buyers for these sets who are not as knowledgeable and critical as some of us seasoned Forum members......... 😀............HB
  16. Well you've got all the answers, Jacob, you are the self-appointed expert at predicting what Hornby are going to do..........HB
  17. It's more likely that Hornby have to order the Club loco in batches throughout the year as new Club Members join........so the batch that has recently been deliverd were for those members who signed up earlier this year.......recent club applicants will then get theirs in Jan 2019.......logical.?........ 😀.......HB
  18. Inordinate increases in Rents and Council Tax in recent years has played a significant part in small shop closures.........HB
  19. Haha, story of my life........ 😆.........I'll change this later this evening using Chris's method...... 😮.............HB
  20. Just a thought, Dauntless, are your measurements taken from the centre of each track?.........HB
  21. At a track spacing of only 51mm it is most likely that the overhang of long locos and carriages will collide when passing round the curves of double tracks.......HB On Hornby's basic track plan the standard spacing is 67mm.
  22. Peter.........this is the Hornby model railway Forum........why do you want to discuss some other make of childrens' toys???..........HB
