  1. Magnets if it’s a fixed rake, but no use for shunting
  2. I’ve put mine through The Model Centre this time instead of direct, which is what I’ve done in the past. Be interesting to see who gets what when.
  3. Thats a shame Peter - they were showing as 24th June before if I'm right. Encouraging however that the 50s haven't changed
  4. 17th May ties in with the metadata on the website too - or it did last I checked. I must be patient... I must be patient... I must be pati...🤐
  5. Lets give @96RAF and the other mods a chance. For myself the changes to the forum a few months back into the new format were very welcome. They are obviously able to tweak things as they go along, which is great. Often its more a case of us simply getting used to the change more than us finding out it's any worse.
  6. Excellent @Andy Stewart. It’s really starting to feel like there’s a critical mass now of models and modellers, and layouts too popping up all over the place. Again, thanks and keep us posted.
  7. Thank you for sharing this @Stephen-1260829! It looks excellent and your idea of a scenic board to practice on looks like you don’t need much more by way of practice. Keep us posted
  8. It’s great to see so many new layouts, and folk having the confidence to post and allow us the pleasure of seeing what’s going on. This looks excellent. Keep posting please!
  9. It’s looking excellent so far. Very neatly presented.
  10. The DuTTch are meant to be the tallest nation on earth are they not?
  11. @StuLarge It's not a proper double posting. It's a trance that you are falling into... you are powerless to resist the pre-order button!
  12. Ahead of the upcoming Class 50 releases, I have uploaded a preview video of the Class 50s, trying to gather all available info to date. The link is here. If I have missed anything, I would greatly appreciate you knowledgable folks letting me know!
  13. Thanks for the video link - very smooth! A few questions if you don’t mind; is the movement automated in any way or is it just hand operated, and lined up by eye? is the ‘headshunt’ piece long enough for anything other than an 08? Thanks.
  14. Wow. For a first year modeller, that is superb Chris. Keep it up and we’ll see you showing it off at exhibitions soon enough!
  15. Great to see things really moving on for you now.
  16. Excellent - very clean and neat looking baseboard. Keep us updated!
  17. @taunmarc88 - these are the traditional homes in my part of the world - built from around the turn of the last century onwards. They are small homes, and are now known as two-up-two-downs due to the basic configuration of rooms. Your eyes will adjust. They really were/are small homes! Plenty of them still in usable condition and lived in to this day.
  18. Pretty sure if you can cope with the complexities of live steam, then you're going to find HM7000 a walk in the park! As others have said - we are more than happy to help, and especially any TT120 related stuff, but the HM7000 forum will give you the best info for that system. PS - Shameless plug alert, but if it's of interest I did an HM7000 walkthrough video recently on MacTrains.
  19. Excellent Paul - thanks for taking the time. Amazing how effective a gentle hill and a tree line can be, and without the hassle of a tunnel.
  20. To revive the long-abandoned topic - for what it's worth I've just added a MacTrains video for improving running on these tankers and the Brake vans. By no means new for most folk on here and relying on forum wisdom and our conversation with Carl Hart.
  21. If you use Chrome, then click on the product page you are interested in, and then right click anywhere on the page and select "View Page Source". This gives you a whole load of HTML code, within which is a line of code that says something like "Expected Availability" followed by a date.
  22. Would you give us a 'closer to eye level' shot? Am interested to see how much elevation you have in the hills, and how much it hides the rear lines. Just if you get half a chance!
  23. For me it’s way easier to list the self-I posed rules that I’ve broken… Only do one small TT module - nope Make absolutely sure everyng is finished in one area before moving on - nope, not that either Check and double check all measurements and have everything properly square and level… guess what! Oh well! Always the next module…
  24. @Generic Hornby Username Sounds like you're convincing yourself there!
  25. Excellent Paul - love the colour palette too. What did you use for the ballast?
