  1. That's a new Simon Kohler interview just posted to MacTrains. And a sincere thanks to @Peachy for joining in the interview. Link is here It was recorded almost immediately after the Let's Talk TT with Martin and Carl (link here) and offers Simon's reaction to the 2024 TT120 range launch and more. All (cordial) comments etc most welcome!
  2. It's the joys of digital communication - it's always harder to get tone and wit onto the page (or screen rather) and misunderstandings can easily arise. No harm done or intended I am sure. As you were chaps...! 🫡
  3. Layout looks great. Keep us posted. Sorry can’t help with building sizes.
  4. Hi Rally - any idea if this would necessitate "excavating" the under frame to fit the brass cups, or would it be the sort of thing that could simply be dropped in place? Happy to ask if we get another opportunity.
  5. Thanks @Silver Fox 17 - yes they were very clear that they knew there was an issue - which came to light between getting running samples and final decorated samples. Hopefully your photos help them. I'm assuming that Carl was wondering if they was anything additional to that.
  6. @Silver Fox 17 It was done just this week - on Monday. What comment caught your eye?
  7. I’m not so sure. We gently raised it at the end off camera but they gave nothing away. But definitely something to look out for.
  8. I do think that the volume can be overwhelming. To my mind the noise should be scaled down too! With HM7k chips at least I find 20-25% is plenty.
  9. I still don't actually understand the pricing in fairness - why is the 66 so much cheaper than even the 50 or the 08? Can anyone explain this to me? It seems to offer the same or better features for the money.
  10. Thanks for these replies chaps. I am genuinely interested in the responses so far - it's only a very small sample, but I did expect there to be more in the first two categories. Early days and the poll is open for a while yet. Thanks to all who have voted/commented so far.
  11. It’s almost not worth posting - but if it saves some of you bothering to watch it, then here goes. Latest issue of Sam’s Trains is the April News edition. In it he covers the TT120 April range launch. This is criticised as being poor, not enough announced etc. Also the upcoming HST sets are noted, and he gets quite annoyed because they are such good value, and he feels ripped off having bought the HST train pack. He also covers the newly announced NG7 range from Bachmann. Which is tiny compared to what Hornby have announced. ANd yet not one word of criticism. In the comments too, every single negative comment re TT, Sam has replied to and in the comments section some of his language is even less guarded. It’s getting really frustrating. I used to enjoy watching Sam, and used to defend him against some of the over-the-top criticism from those who were just out to be nasty. But this is getting very frustrating. In one of the comments he criticises Hornby for not investing enough in TT…! Anyway - I had to get it off my chest! Rant over.
  12. @dBerriff Welcome back, and it's great to hear of folk willing to see past the early teething problems. Here's hoping The Scotsman runs like a dream for you. Certainly the HM7000 is a superb system and adds greatly to the enjoyment. I know that they have slightly adjusted the tooling for the front bogies since the original sets, so Hornby are working away all the time to improve the sets. If you still do have any issues there are lots of chaps on here who are brim full of knowledge, and more than happy to help out. Enjoy!
  13. @Timothy-350163 I do agree Timothy. In fact (and maybe this is heresy!!!) but I for one couldn't tell the difference between the sounds of one steamy or the knocking of some particular old diesel loco. If they brought out a loco that had no HM7k file (which would seem likely) then I confess it wouldn't greatly trouble me at all - so long as there was a 'close enough' sound file that was available. But then again I have little knowledge or experience of prototypes so I understand that may well not be the majority position. Hmm - I feel a poll coming on...
  14. Thanks RB51. Perhaps simply Let’s Talk TT video thread, so that it doesn’t automatically imply new episode is out each time it’s updated. Thanks.
  15. Don’t disagree with that. I debated adding this latest one as a new thread but that seemed excessive. Will look into changing it to avoid confusion
  16. Nice one Skelton. Is it just me or are the colours a little washed out? My own are the same Not a big issue of course.
  17. We're hoping it's out by Friday.
  18. That's the next episode of "Let's Talk TT" in the can - recording complete today. Chris and I thoroughly enjoyed our chat with both Martyn Weaver and Carl Hart. Keep an eye out for the episode coming out later this week, all being well.
  19. @Silver Fox 17 Thanks for this photo - helpful to get a close up of the differences.
  20. Peachy and I have it down (or something very close to it) as one to ask. Agree that clarity is what we need.
  21. Just posted a new MacTrains episode - not anything new for most folk on here - but just serving as an introduction to this very forum itself. If you think it's useful a like, a share and/or a sub would be great!
  22. @StuLarge Let's hope so! It would be great to see that kind of interaction and responsiveness from Hornby with the forum.
  23. Not out yet, but due for first episode release tomorrow. No affiliation or link, just for interest His content for OO is usually quite watchable and positive.
  24. Great idea Tim. Have voted. Green for me!
