  1. @taunmarc88 As the rest of the chaps have said, great to hear of someone else taking the plunge. Sounds like a solid premise, enjoy!
  2. Coming along nicely Dave. I like how you went about this - get it up with what little was available at the time - and then go back and add realism and detail.
  3. Thanks @Silver Fox 17 and @Going Spare. Both very helpful! @RallyMat I agree - the look of 00 never bothered me before - but now...
  4. If I'm reading the plan correctly, one advantage of the Hornby version would be that you have two passing loops for each of the main station lines, leading out to direction C. That's all I can come up with - oh - that and the advantage of Hornby selling four more points and one crossing!
  5. @LTSR_NSE - re the uneven wheel spacing - forgive my ignorance of the prototype and the engineering behind it - but do you know why was this done?
  6. The man’s not lying… teasing yes, but lying? Nope!
  7. @Dodge1965 - I'd say we've maybe all gotten a bit too excited - yes, we want them to jump aboard - but the figures may simply have been a bit of fun, easily resized with no real work required by way of design resources. Hope I'm wrong of course! Either way, even if they are working on something more substantial - they're not ready to admit it!
  8. Totally agree with this. Takes the notion of modules to the next layer. Def be great as was also suggested to have a QR code to quickly order the indicated Pod.
  9. I know Peachy was pressing them. Looks like a definite hint I’d say! I raised it with them at MRS too but they were understandably tight lipped.
  10. Also - the signal pricing - home signals £2 cheaper than distant. Can’t find them on the website listings yet. And images for some of the buildings have been updated I think to show packaging.
  11. Re signals - I’m surprised that they are pushing this with Peco in the mix too. At MRS Peco rep said they were already in production with them. Perhaps Hornby simply feel that you can’t have a range without offering your own signals. Fair enough if so!
  12. Ok, plenty to digest But start with the J50. Does 6-pin mean no sound version, or is a 6 pin HM7k with sound chip coming?
  13. That does look good Chris. You’re right to be pleased with your work!
  14. Cheery chappy Andy over at Modeloco has a useful and positive review of the new TXS-fitted BR blue HSTs. Well worth a watch
  15. Thought it would be the Easterner for Easter…! Looks and sounds good
  16. Delighted the coal loads work for you. Nice to see the loco getting the beans! What are you using to operate the signal?
  17. I don’t know re Sam. Yes, his last piece re TT was over the top in its implied negativity, but the reviews themselves have been quite fair I feel. If he reviews an HST soon (and I hope he will) I would love to see him give it a good score and put him back on track.
  18. Just as the heading says! Its getting close - come on Hornby - wow us with wonders!
  19. Agreed your best bet is the Hm DCC part of the forum, but whilst you’re here, sometimes I’ve had to do a re-start on my tablet to get them talking to each other again after a blip. No idea why, but maybe worth trying. Can’t beat the old off-and-on routine!
  20. Loved the pillar box red. Well done whoever it was who helped. Came up a treat.
  21. This is rather like trying to teach the proverbial granny to suck eggs, but for those interested I uploaded a basic walk through of HM7k onto my MacTrains channel last night. If I’ve missed anything major or made any blunders I’d appreciate feedback. Thanks!
  22. Excellent idea. Where did you put the weights?
  23. Excellent timing - just uploaded a wee video on RME yesterday!
  24. Flattered to be mentioned here chaps - but I suspect my machine is not going to cut it for this - it's just a basic FDM. Fine for coal loads and things like that but I doubt very much it would be sharp enough for baffles. If someone points me in the right direction I'm happy to give it a go, but don't expect much!
