  1. There’s already been a similar thread posted in which I’ve added my list. However, I shall list again… Hornby railroad class 67’s & Lima Class 67’s - all fitted with largest enclosure and stay alives. Hornby Class 66 - fitted with largest enclosure and stay alive. Dapol Class 73’s - fitted with largest enclosure and stay alive. Hornby Class 73’s - fitted with largest enclosure and stay alive. Vitrains Class 47 - fitted with smaller square enclosure and stay alive. All large diesels really, so plenty of room. Next challenge is working out how to fit my Bachmann 94xx pannier with the larger hornby next-18 chip because at the moment, I’d say that was one that doesn’t fit.
  2. There is a small loco that I wish to give the HM7000 treatment. Room is extremely limited and after assessing the space, it looks like I can only fit the speaker without an enclosure. Does anybody have any experience of what the resulting sound quality might be like? Thanks
  3. I don’t believe so. This is a feature I’m waiting for as well. A lot of my trains are top & tail.
  4. Jaguar12 I have been given a tracking number so I can only assume that it all processed ok.
  5. That sounds interesting! Any idea which video it was in?
  6. Thanks for your responses. Bit annoyed as the price I paid for them (£45 each) suggested to me that they would be new tooling. Now I have no idea how to dismantle them for detailing and I was hoping those lighting strips would go in. I know they can still be fitted but it looks like the new tooling doesn’t require dismantling for a battery change.
  7. Just out of interest, has anybody installed one on an 0 gauge loco?
  8. Can anyone tell me which liveries the new tooling mk3 coaches are available in? I bought some mk3 intercity sleepers recently but they were definitely an old Lima tooling despite being new from the shop. Thanks
  9. I had a referral link so got an extra £10 off, plus spent over £25 so got £2 off postage. Mods: is it legal to share referral links on the forum?
  10. Not sure if this is allowed, so mods, please feel free to delete. RMS have the power banks on sale for £6.95 which seems to be a significant saving. I’ve just ordered a bunch of them for future use. https://www.railwaymodelstore.co.uk/hornby-oo-gauge-hm7070-power-bank-r7377/
  11. I’m looking for some kind of extension / converter for a next 18 socket. The idea being that I wouldn’t have to directly plug in the next 18 decoder but instead, relocate it somewhere else in a loco. Or a converter that would allow me to plug an 8 pin decoder into a next 18 socket. Reason being that I could fit in a next 18 Bluetooth decoder on a specific loco, just not where the socket currently is. Does such a product exist?
  12. I wonder what this means for the company. Especially TT:120 even though I don’t model in it. It seemed that he was the one pushing the idea and I wonder if it will continue without him.
  13. Thoughts? I actually quite like it. Playing the national anthem seems a bit much though! https://uk.hornby.com/products/coronation-his-majesty-king-class-66-06523-king-charles-iii-club-exclusive-r30238txs
  14. Has anyone managed to fit the stay alive into TT:120 locos or is this not possible?
  15. @Carbone, You don’t need to photograph your locos. I use stock images. I think it looks a bit neater.
  16. I have a Bachmann 94xx which I’m planning to give the TXS treatment. It has a pre-fitted speaker in it. I understand that I don’t need to fit the Hornby supplied speaker in this case? Quite a lot of room can be created in this loco and I reckon I’d be able to fit the second speaker in, so would it be able to get a second speaker working at the same time? Or is this not recommended? Cheers.
  17. I’m using class 66 sound in class 67’s. But as far as I’m aware, they’re pretty similar. Wasn’t at all sure what to use in the 47 so I downloaded the 31 sounds. Nobody at my club has told me it’s wrong yet and they’re pretty fussy! And 2 class 73’s, obviously with class 73 sound.
  18. 2 x Hornby Railroad class 67, 1 x Hornby Class 66. Acres of space in both of these. Vitrains class 47, couldn’t fit the largest enclosure in this one unfortunately. 2 x Dapol class 73. Whilst there’s not as much space as the Hornby models, the largest enclosure and power bank fit in quite neatly. All running perfectly. Only thing is, I’ve had to set volumes as low as 40 to avoid distortion.
  19. Both class 43 profiles are actually available by the way
  20. These might help: https://westhillwagonworks.com/hunt-couplings-elite-oo/447-additional-pair-of-hst-powercar-buckeye-elite-couplings.html
  21. It might be worth posting a couple of pictures of where you are at?
  22. @Aussie Fred Whilst I totally agree with your statement, in this case it’s not my layout so not my rule’s unfortunately. I guess I’ve joined a club where people have money to burn that can afford their accurascale, cavalex and rapido models and I just can’t keep up. The layout is a very nice one though and I sort of understand their reasoning especially when at exhibitions. I just don’t believe the average exhibition goer is that bothered. I take time to service and weather my locos and I don’t believe the difference is that obvious. Anyway, I did manage to sneak a cheap LED in there although it’s far to bright for my liking.
  23. Just a general question really. Obviously it’s down to the individual but I’m wondering for how many people is it a deal breaker if a model doesn’t have directional lighting? By accident, I found my birthday present which is a Hornby Class 66. Most of my larger locos only get run on my clubs layout due to the tight curves on mine. Two of my most prized locos are a pair of Hornby GBRf class 73’s with a Network Rail test train as it’s something I work closely with in real life. However, when I took the train to the club, there was a couple of comments about them being railroad models and not having lights which made me feel a bit small. The club has a few exhibition layouts and one of them has a strict Lima ban!! Is that a common attitude? I’d like to be able to go and take my new model but it is a bit off putting. Would you be offended by a Railroad / Lima model being run at an exhibition?
  24. So in the end, I found a fairly acceptable and easy solution for this problem. I had a few hunt couplings left over from modifying my airfix mk2 coaches. Removing the old coupling from the 67 and superglueing this one on seems to have worked a treat. I know it’s not a popular model but just in case anyone is interested. Also works the same for the Lima 67. In fact, I think the Hornby and Lima GUV’s have the same.
  25. Not a great picture but hopefully clear enough. Getting a NEM pocket on there somewhere is a possibility but I see challenges getting it the right height. I was hoping west hill wagon works would have something as they seem to have many variants but it looks like this one has not been covered yet.
