On the assumption that the controllers are the same as Marklin my world, there should be two different channels to operate on. The controller should have a switch underneath it as should the locomotive.

I recently purchased a row of 6 low relief shop kits. I've assembled 2 but the options for shop displays were limited in options. I'd like to personalise them a bit more. Does anybody have any idea where I might be able to find some images of shop displays? Of course I have searched Google but I must be using the wrong wording / search terms as I'm just getting actual images of real shop displays that don't really work. Many Thanks in advance for any help!

I don't have any playtrains but my son has a Marklin my world set which is pretty much the same. He can be quite heavy handed but we've not had any breakages yet. I'd say they are pretty solid so I'm wondering if hornby changed any of the 'tooling' when they 'made' playtrains.

Fox was the first place I checked. Can't see anything suitable on there unfortunately.

I now have a full rake of the southern 4/6 wheel coaches but looking to add a second rake. Could anybody point me in the right direction for some suitable waterslide transfers for numbers and obliteration patches to renumber them. I've checked the usual sites but not sure what would actually work. Thanks!

I think the problem with pickups (6 wheel coaches rather than the 4 wheel) is that the coaches already have a lot of drag. My poor terrier is already unhappy pulling a rake of 5.

They could quite easily supply the coaches with the lighting fitted without the battery. Or even better, Pack it separately.

Pretty sure it was just an excuse to save costs whilst charging the same price. The new ones seem to have the same RRP as the previous lit ones. Also not buying the whole reason for no controller in the Triang sets.

Can anybody tell me the difference between Hornby x7690 and r7338? They both appear to be the same thing but I can't work out why the "x" is so much cheaper than the "r"

Can't see any problems with that. The Bachmann track that I have still has Hornby catalogue numbers on it somehow.

100% a scam email. Timing is probably just coincidental. Funny thing is, if you go to the website it links you to, usually the only buttons that work are the ones that lead you to entering your details.

I think the ones with “intercity express” are the below railroad standard coaches and the ones with “southeastern” are a bit more detailed. There were different versions of the class 395 produced to very different standards.

Mk4's for the class 91 I believe. They make up the 225 set.

I probably should have been a bit clearer joy. Whilst the layout is not too speficic in era or area, steam is preferred, it's the club's layout and exhibiting members are bringing their own stock. A couple of members are a little fussy over prototypical trains. The stock on my personal layout is an absolute mash up!

Hi All Just a quick one... I bought a set of the Southern 6 wheel coaches and was later gifted a terrier. The only problem is that the Terrier is 'Brighton' which is in what I understand to be called "Improved green" livery or something of the sort. I'll be exhibiting a small layout with my local MRC in the coming months. Would I be able to get away with running these together or are they different era's / area's etc? I'm a modern image modeller and don't really have a clue. Thanks

Not sure if you’re trying to call me out for not just using google here... But firstly I was asking how the coaches come as standard. Secondly, I was looking for railroad rather than triang. And thirdly, I was looking for the possibility of custom made names.

I recently acquired a set of Pullman coaches (railroad) secondhand that came without any names on them. Being as tight as I am, I've never bought a new one and so I am wondering, do these standardly come without names printed on them? Are transfers usually included in the box? And if so where I could get hold of some? Even better, if anyone knows where I could get custom ones made? I'm not to bothered about realism so thought it would be cool to give some coaches names of my family etc

Gaugemaster - luckily I'm less than an hours drive from the shop. Unfortunately, not many bargains to be had. I usually go just with the intention of seeing what items look like in person but end up spending money as well.Bluebell railway - Again, high prices and don't usually intend on buying things from there but once said items are in front of you, I just can't help it.East Surrey Model Railway Club - There is a gentleman that always brings things with him to sell. Years ago as a kid, I had the opposite problem... Laptop charger broke so I found my old Hornby power supply and plugged it in as it fit... There was about 5 seconds of a buzzing noise from the laptop, a pop and then smoke. Killed the laptop dead.

Would you be able to expand on that? I'm genuinely interested but don't quite understand what you mean.

Also, let me know what else you’ve had success with running around 1st radius
