I’m juggling the points offer/list price/nominally quicker delivery with a Rails preorder at discounted price but unhurried activity to get it to me.

Mine is coming from Rails of Sheffield, currently, but I’m sorely tempted to cancel and order from hornby instead. They’ve had stock since Friday.

I’ve seen that inner 1st radius siding on Hornby’s track plans and it has always suggested to me that it needs resolving somehow or at least, a purpose. I’d continue it to become a neighbour to the other sidings that you have coming off the inside loop, at the very least.

Yes, this is exactly the situation correctly outlined. I was one of the cancelled orderers and didn’t reorder until I saw how good it looks. I’ve never fitted a decoder, let alone two, or a speaker and am looking out for posts on here of those that have for guidance. Mine’s probably due next week from Rails.

No you didn’t misunderstand, I approximated the amounts. Would these £66 worth of points be transferable to preorders already in the system?

So if I cancel the locomotive and coaches at Rails it costs £33 more to buy at hornby but I get £44 worth of points to go against the class 50 orders I have in place from my 15% discount days?

I’m thinking that the ordered stock Hornby have delivered were all at club member discount and any one that missed the HST boat (me) will order elsewhere

Rails’ website has gone from limited availability to pre order which suggests they’ve sold their first allocation amount. But they are £20 cheaper like GM.

There’s no such thing as bad publicity as it’s the oxygen for their social media life support. I agree that the success of Hornby TT 120 provides more oxygen to their income streams, be it fair or unfair coverage. Rank amateurs, chancers and grifters pop up all over the place and are not exclusive to YT.

I’m waiting on Hornby to send Rails their allocation and from Rails’ email yesterday it said March 1st 🤞 and I’d hope for the mk3s at the same time.

Agreed Matt, my layout scenery has altered even over these last few months. As the economic situation and dwindling subsidies have taken their toll on Bryn Eisteddfod farm they’re going to diversify in to holiday accommodations and a music festival 😃

Yes ntp they are too low. Having played with Hornby’s substantially made Lyddle end stuff (freely available on eBay despite going out of production some years ago) the quality deserved some creativity I thought. So I’ve raised the platforms and station area a couple of mil with mdf and now have another project to go at (this keeps me occupied whilst waiting for the new locomotives). I’ll upload pics when I can.
