I’ve an HST with 3 coaches and magnetic couplings. Runs on R2 upwards at speed and I’ve also tried it on R1 in the sidings without issue. Hope this helps.

Mine is as lovely as a mk1 on the straights and only slightly reticent on curves so initially I’m going to adopt the aforementioned running in method. It’s doing an hour or so with the 08.

Maybe I received a poor example as they’re not as vibrant looking as the website pic (which do look a bit pale upon closer inspection) From their reputation this doesn’t happen with their locos and rolling stock.

Imho, they are washed out and a fairly useless addition for £15. However, if AS pursue the scale then the cost may be mitigated somewhat.

I think the most telling words used by @Dodge1965 come near the end of that video: ”…..that’s staying as is, for now…” One of the most enduring attractions about my layout is its ever changing mood(s).

Pretty much any combination of traction and rolling stock will find use at Skelton Junction. The only parameter I’m broadly sticking to is that it’s been in use in my lifetime. The layout is a railway version of Cosford’s Cold War museum 😃 where everything on display I can remember being in active service.
