  1. I clean a fibre pen by trimming it with scissors outside.
  2. Surely the Hornby P2 isn't pre 1996 is it?
  3. I agree about Hornby and Lima track but Jj quoted "if the Model Locos & Track are all OO Gauge then they should all fit together no matter what brand". That would not be the case with Peco code 75 for instance, not really "no matter what brand". 😀
  4. 1 in 5, good grief what is it, a ski slope? 😆
  5. No not 1 in 25 that is steeper than 1 in 30. You ideally want 1 in 40 or 60 etc. The longer it takes to climb the better.
  6. 1 in 30 is the maximum recommended gradient. To climb 1 inch needs 30 inches or 1cm needs 30 cm. So to climb 2 inches will need 5 feet. Curves prefer even less of a slope. Remember if a train climbs up then goes along on the level it generally has to go back down again.
  7. Obviously not errors Jacob. Can't imagine adding all those items by mistake can you. More likely an error taking them off don't you think.
  8. Yes you do. I said "I've only done a little test clean and it works well".
  9. At the bottom of the page there is a circle where your avatar is or would go. Click on that and you'll see.
  10. We cut back blackthorn around the fields we look after. Got stabbed in the leg last year about 3/4 inch in and 1/4 inch sticking out.
  11. Staffordshire, thorns? Too much medication I reckon . 😉
  12. The best aircraft in the world. 580 knots at 10 ft.
  13. I forgot about it. It is a good quality product. I've only done a little test clean and it works well. I don't clean my loco wheels very often.
  14. These seem to have one. https://millenniummodelsmorley.co.uk/store/index.php?id_product=960&id_product_attribute=0&rewrite=r8101-tts-sound-decoder-class-31&controller=product
  15. It's not good practice to solder track together. I guess it is OK in a siding but definitely not on the main layout. I personally would have purchased a length of flexi to fill any gaps or at least a packet of new fishplates.
  16. There is a spring as can be seen in this picture. No. 8. Is the bogie stiff or does it swing side to side easily. If the fixing screw is too tight it can hold the bogie off the track. /media/tinymce_upload/0e5855cf3476a8d3fbb37ac766da5cf7.PNG
  17. Thanks for the update. 10/10 for perserverence.
  18. Are wheels and track clean? Also what power supply are you using, is it DC or DCC.
  19. The thing is. at about the time you are referring to with LD being imminent, Hornby had a eureka moment, not my words Simon Kholers I believe, and decided to rethink the whole thing, so what is in the 2014 handbook could well be a thing of the past.
  20. If I just wanted a display model I'd buy a kit.
  21. I added pickups to all the wheels on my ringfield powered locos before you could buy ready made pickups. I didn't change any of the wheels. Can't recall what I did.
