  1. No not really, no more expensive than any other loco. I'm not getting one because I wouldn't run it.
  2. I wonder how many they could actually sell. I know quite a few people with model railways and so far only one had bought one. A member of this forum.
  3. The stock item will be back if it sells out, that's what usually happens. I think Hornby are correct to see how it sells before committing to making more.
  4. Don't think he is referring to tyres but wants to insulate the wheel from the axle. Not really sure why.
  5. I'm with Chris, its a quartering problem. My loco, until I sold it, ran beautifully.
  6. Could the reason for the delay be because the system that will eventually arrive will be nothing like you are expecting?
  7. Do you think Hornby haven't got a clue what to do, or is it not possible they are way ahead of anything that has been discussed on here?
  8. I have just looked at the Janus and I am no longer a member. I got 404 first but have found if 404 apoears on the Hornby site selecting the item immediately again usually works. Dark blue, very smart.
  9. I love it when idiots pay over the odds. As I've said before I'd be delighted to get £50 for something worth a tenner. Not that I sell on eBay.
  10. Surely you can fit traction tyres on the tender without removing anything. Use a paper clip. Bend just under 1/8th of an inch over at a righr angle and use it to feed the tyre round the top of the wheel.
  11. Not sure why you are bothered about it Jacob. You made it quite clear you weren't willing to pay much for a book, so why should those that are willing to pay take pictures to show you?
  12. How did you manage to get it for £10 Walkingthedog? It was £25 at Foyles when I looked a couple of weeks ago. Play on words InterCity. I said "I" paid a tenner, my daughter gave me a £15 book token for Christmas. 😆
  13. I have no digital books. I find them difficult to read. When I used to type briefing bulletins on a PC and read the result it looked fine, but when I printed it out and read it again it was full of typos.
  14. Can you be sure none of the droppers are crossed. It can be very difficult when you are wiring circuits. The best way is to take a wagon and add a length of wire the same colour as the droppers to each side of the wagon corresponding to the colour of the dropper that side. Then wheel the wagon all over the layout without lifting it off the track. The colour of the wire on the wagons side should always be the same colour as the droppers.
  15. I don't recall him mentioning individual links, just that they would be the correct way up. Surely individual links would be miniscule.
  16. Does sound like a load of rubb doesn't it.
  17. Rob does the elevated bit at the front work. Looks a bit like a long S bend?
  18. They will take time post them. I doubt they will all arrive at the same time. What is wrong with the couplings out of interest.
