  1. So basically Jj you don't have a clue and needn't have replied. I went to one there quite a few years ago and it was very good. Can't guarantee it will be this time.
  2. Pop out the offending wheel set and see if the fault disappears.
  3. It would appear on the 3ohm axle neither of the wheels are insulated from the axle. At least one should be.
  4. But if the track is fixed down solder on the outsude of the rails.
  5. I agree GS. Second time this week something has been moved to the incorrect section. Not sure what the criteria is.
  6. Probably something that you have spent many hours building, that's what usually happens when you scratch build something.
  7. Or cut the top of the face off removing the eyes and uncovering the headcode. Exciting times eh Rob.
  8. Good job they weren't two bad vans Jacob. 😀
  9. Guess it depends on the book. Fiction you're probably right, reference well that depends how rare it is.
  10. Are you saying it has no face but a headcode, if so you have an ordinary model of a Hymek not a Thomas model.
  11. Jacob you said "An item new, is always worth more than a used item." Well I believe this post has rather disproved that statement. Many old books are worth much more than there original price. I have several books that I know I can get three times the price I paid 5 years ago.
  12. I've seenit, thank you. Just need to get it made a sticky.
  13. Perhaps your model shop was slow off the mark. As Jacob suggested preorder things straight away. You can always cancel the preorder later.
  14. Thanks LC. What a shame that such an informative post will even disappear from sight. Could you post it on the other forum where it will be easier to find for future reference.
  15. I don't want it at the moment, I have other books to read first. My wife works in a charity shop and I will wait until it appears in there, which it will.
  16. I spend a lot more time reading books than I do playing trains or watching TV.
  17. Good books are expensive to print. I'm not talking about Thomas the Tank Engine but decent reference books. Like I said a magazine is a fiver so a hardback book should be a lot more if it is a decent publication on quality paper.
  18. Do the pipes vary depending on the year it represents. Have you checked it against the real thing. Looked at mine but I've snipped them off below the buffer beam otherwise they foul the coupling.
  19. Thanks Chris. I agree about the flicker looking unrealistic, I prefer a steady glow. Me and my dad fitted a loco with an orange bulb about a hundred years ago, looked pretty good but got dimmer and brighter as the loco got slower or faster then the fire went out when it stopped. 😀
