  1. Chris all links on my iPad are clickable immediately.
  2. Yes I had forgotten that Buz. So SM is a railway term for Station Master in Australia and apparantly also in India.
  3. In tunnels they lower the track bed I believe.
  4. Doesn't mean they are out of scale though. They look OK on my 50.
  5. No idea, look alright to me but why do you think they are wrong? Here is a link. http://www.shawplan.com/fittings.htm
  6. OK, thought you were referring to the cheap one.
  7. I'm a negative 6ft 2in, that's 5ft 10 in. 😆
  8. He's talking about the little ex Dapol pug not the cheap Hornby version. I had the Dapol version and it was very well detailed. Could do with a bit of reworking.
  9. Did you make that up Buz. Not a UK term. 😆
  10. They are known as mixed traffic locos so anything goes.
  11. I have never changed a motor. 100 hours is an hour a day for 100 days. I don't run my locos for more than 5 minutes at a time and at slow to moderate speeds.
  12. No Jj not railway workers that fell in front of a train. I take it you were joking when you said that. It will be for any railway workers that fell during wars serving their country.
  13. Rob I have code 100 laid straight on the board. I have a bridge crossing the track with a clearance of 2 3/4inches. Looks just right and everything passes under it from steam to diesel and coach to crane. Not sure about a loco with a pantograph but I will never own one.
  14. I think the reason is because Hornby set track comes with fishplates that are fixed in place and don't slide right along.
  15. I have heard of a Y junction not Wye. I wonder if LC has heard the term.
  16. Chris I was going to say if it is from the USA, leave it there. 😆
  17. I'm not looking for proof Chris, just never heard of the term. Y points yes, WYE meaning a turning triangle no. Every day's a new day. Wiki not the best example to use. 😆 Is it an American term?
  18. In all my years of railway modelling I have never heard of the term "WYE". Have now.
  19. I agree with LMS. I have gone back to the nearest joint to the toe end (single track) of the points and cut away the fishplates there. Then waggle the two tracks of the points free. Replace the points then the piece of track after cutting away some sleepers so new fishplates can be slid clear of the join. Slide the fishplates into place. Done. If there isn't a join nearby make one.
  20. I bought a box like this. Amazing how useful they have been. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Starlock-PERFETSELL-Internal-Fasteners-Assortment/dp/B07TSHWJYY/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?keywords=internal+tooth+star+washers&qid=1579347572&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEyU01BUFpKMTQ0NFlEJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwMTIyMTc1Ulg5WEpJTjBKS0FSJmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTA4NjYxMjQzUFZCUjVBSk0xVU0zJndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfYXRmJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ==
  21. Good point Chris, it didn't sink in that the polystyrene was covered on PoP. Doh!
